I'd offer them an extra player of their choice if they'd agree to take Lefebvre and his coaching staff as part of any deal.

It's a quagmire of 4th liners and AHL lifers on that team.

The Habs can't really develop any good NHL ready prospects under SL so MB filled the team with non prospect older AHL players to make the team competitive for fans in it's first season there it looks like. The Habs development department is in total shambles and have been for a while and they don't seem to give a crap that it is. The entire Habs organization could really use a complete cleansing on all levels.

I like how these trades makes Montreal significantly worse now AND don't do **** to help the team in the future either.

Pretty sure the oilers don't want to spend 15 million on goaltending.

And even then, what's the incentive when Talbot has been very good since being traded there.

DLC reported that apperently, the Habs two scouts at each of Carolina farm club games last weekend.

Maybe Nicolas Roy? Just speculating..

At the cost of nothing, maybe a $1 million does anyone think that Jarome Iginla would be a perfect fit for the Habs? Wheels are gone but still has a top rate shot. For the 4th line he would be an upgrade on Froese and Mitchell. Tough customer. Great on the draw. Played for Julien. And a perfect fit for the 2nd PP unit. Not to mention leadership and depth.

It's all fine and dandy to stock up the Rockets with AHL lifers and fringe NHLers just to be able to prevail against other teams that are rostering more young players.

However, they're going to need marquee upside players to keep the clientele interested. Trade for them and draft them, but they have to have them. Not everyone is going to want to see games in Laval just to root for the Terrys of this world.

Lebrun just said on TSN690 that he talked to a western conference GM and the impression that GM got was the Habs want to be patient with Galchenyuk right now so hopefully they keep him to either raise his value or he starts tearing it up for the Habs on the score sheet. He's looked much better lately even if Julien still doesn't trust him defensively to start 3 on 3 OT.

I don't think Price is going anywhere....but Vancouver seems like a logical connection....for a few reasons.

One he would likely waive to play there imo

Two
The Sedins contracts end at the end of this season and they seem to finally be playing half decent.

I don't know much about what they have that would make it worthwhile or if Horvat would be available.

That being said I don't see it happening

Yeah Vancouver seems like a possible scenario and we might have to take Eriksson back, which is fine.

Playing defensively... and 3 on 3 overtime. These two concepts just don't go together. You play 3 on3 OT to score, not to avoid a goal against.

If I'm the coach, we start OT with Drouin-Galchenyuk and Mete. Speed and skill. That's how you win that stupid 3 on 3 thing.

I wonder what that package would look like but Montreal could be in some trouble depending if Lindgren is forced into a role but see what a package could look like:

Markström
Eriksson
Juolevi
1st round pick

For

Price
Benn
Prospect / Pick

Habs would look like:

Galchenyuk Drouin Eriksson
Pacioretty Danault Shaw
Bryon Plekanec Gallagher
Hudon De La Rose Lehkonen
Mitchell

Alzner Weber
Schlemko Petry
Mete Morrow
Jerabek Davidson

Markström
Lindgren

Or, you know, they could have just drafted him instead of an overage unknown Swede. A 6’4 Quebecois centre? Who needs that Trevor??
