But Edler and Duchene would be FANTASTIC. a line of sherback-duchene-gallagher looks very interesting to me.

Correct me if I'm wrong but recapture happens if he retires early...period.

So if he retires on any team early Detroit will feel the pain.

It's not wrong. It's just more of a risk for the Red Wings since the usual retirement talks would be held with another team and there isn't anything forcing the hand of whoever holds his contract to trade him back. He's not going to talk with Holland if he plans on retiring before 41 as a hab essentially.

Same goes for Weber. If the guy decides to retire early it's tough luck for the Preds. No talks owed back.

I just hope Bergevin goes after someone cheap (ex: Cammalleri where New Jersey retains salary, Yakupov) or someone with elite potential (ex. Evander Kane, Lndeskog, Duchene). We can't lose 2nd rounders for patches.
