Canucks currently drafting in the 30th spot. This is a list of players taken in this position from the past 20 years.
2022 Brad Lambert
2021 Zachary Dean
2020 Mavrik Bourque
2019 John Beecher
2018 Joe Veleno
2017 Eeli Tolvanen
2016 Sam Steel
2015 Nick Merkley
2014 John Quenneville
2013 Ryan Hartman
2012 Tanner Pearson
2011 Rickard Rakell
2010 Brock Nelson
2009 Simon Despres
2008 Tom McCollum
2007 Nick Ross
2006 Matt Corrente
2005 Vladimir Mihalik
2004 Andy Rogers
2003 Shawn Belle
2002 Jim Slater
2001 Dave Steckel
2000 Jeff Taffe

The majority of these players were on waivers at some point. The 30th overall pick is a low chance lottery with about a 5% chance of the player turning it into a 2nd line player. Chances are the player you trade the pick for will be far better than anything that pick turns into.
How dare you insult our Lord and Saviour like that.

Its not quite that bad. A study done a few years ago came up with the probability of someone drafted about 30 playing more than 100 games at about 50%. almost no one plays in less than their draft + 2 year, and usually its D+3 where you likely see them if they are going to make it.

Where is the poll??

it does depend on who we can get, but we definitely need a hard attempt to try and get key people to help us in the playoffs. Look at the contacts expiring after this year And look at the surprise performances by certain players on this team. I dont think our team will be as good again after this year. We have to have an all or nothing mentality this year.

I would only trade the pick for a #2 center that we have a good chance at extending, which would allow us to keep the lotto line together. I wouldn't trade the pick for a winger and maybe not even for a defenseman

Rentals in the past couple years have not been going for 1st round picks. 1st rounders go to players for whom you hold some years of control. If we spend a 1st rounder, it had better be for a player who can help us beyond 2024.

I'd certainly toss out a 3rd and a mid tier prospect for some top/middle 6 help on an expiring contract.

Get outta here with these "facts." Don't you know any pick they trade is going to be the next Kucherov or Josi?

This first can only be traded for a legit 2C with five years left on his contract at under $4 million AAV.
