If this is true, then Guerin needs to be fired immediately, because Foligno is still here.
I can't imagine anyone being happy that Parise is still here.

Remember when there as ABSOLUTELY NO WAY that Leipold was going to let Guerin trade our King Clancy winner? Those were good times.

Entitlist has Foligno as “untouchable” in the thread that got locked on the main boards. I somewhat want to chance my name because I don’t want people to confuse us, but there’s too much heritage in it.

And now Dumba is a finalist and he might not be back next season.

Maybe being nominated for the Clancy on the Wild isn't such a great thing.

Find the best combination of center/asshole and there's the Wild target.
Kadri would've been perfect

Thoughts on a 1 year $1M-ish deal to Ilya Kovalchuk to play on the 2nd line with Staal and Kaprizov?

What was he pacing this year? I know he hangs out with Kap in Russia a fair amount.
Didn't play much in LA. Put up 17 points in 29 games split between Montreal and Washington. I wouldn't expect him to be a great option in the top 6 but he would be good for the PP, and would hopefully help out with Kaprizov's transition.

I don’t have any problem with it because I don’t think he’s stealing anything from Kunin/Greenway as they’re more 3rd liners for me. I don’t think it works unless you move one of Parise/Zuccarello, and it likely means the end of Donato, though.

Zuccarello-x-Fiala
Kovalchuk-Staal-Kaprizov
Foligno-Ek-Kunin
Parise-Sturm-Hartman

Move both Greenway and Donato

Yeah, it would have to be the end of Donato. Parise's time in the top 6 sure as hell better be over regardless though.

Yeah that works, I just fear it may end up:
Parise-Xxx-Fiala
Kovalchuk-Staal-Kaprizov
Zuccarello-Ek-Kunin

in which case both Zuccarello and Parise are misused

Unless you're getting ridiculous value for Greenway, it makes zero sense to move him and keep Foligno.

I’d be surprised if parise isn’t in the top 6 next year, and I agree he needs to be 4th line pp specialist

If Parise is on the roster next year, you most likely need a new GM.
If Parise is in the top 6 next year, you most likely need a new coach.

Convincing another human being to take on Parise’s contract is a fireable offense? Lmfao

We’ll most likely need some new coach and GM then. I just don’t see how they take him out of the top 6 now when his numbers were indicating all year that he shouldn’t be there. I kinda think our best shot at getting parise out of the top 6 was when Fenton was around

Yeah I don't trust Evason at this moment, so you're probably right

I actually like Guerin. Please don’t fire. I still haven’t made my mind on Evanson. Apparently he is suppose to reward players with playing time that deserve it and not by veteran status. I know that has kinda been the case with Koivu but let’s be honest that was happening before Evanson.

maybe next year we will see the younger guys get a bigger role.

i hope we stand pat with free agency signing unless it is a goalie or we make a trade. With a frozen cap we should keep as much space open because we can weaponize it with teams who are cap crunched and the expansion draft. Plus it helps with resigning Fiala and Kap.

What do you like about Guerin?

The cap is flat for at least another year and more likely 2-3 years. It's going to be a fair amount of time until the NHL gets back to $4.8b revenue.

The cap being flat shouldn't affect our ability to get help in free agency.
