You don't always win Cups off trade deadline moves.
In fact, Doug Armstrong suggests that if you look at some of the teams that are perceived as "strongest" or "most complete" who have the track record to match, they're starting to pull these moves
before the season (and letting the chemistry build from there) more so than right before the playoff run. Morrow was a September signing in St. Louis, Chicago added guys like Rozsival, Stalberg, Hossa, and even Brunette, etc in the off season, not the deadline (Frolik is an early exception to what has now become more of a rule with them), for a few examples. It's weird to see Anaheim so active, but sometimes there are moves that have to be made whether you're happy with where you are or not.
