Alright a move for the sake of making a move!

I guess it allows the apologists to say we did something.

Oskar Sundavist was a guy I was interested in for Flames but was scared he’d go for a 2nd. Went for a 4th. Niederreiter for a 2024 2nd and Gostisbehere for a 2025 3rd. All guys that would address some needs - top 9 forward, PP QB and upgrade on 4th line.

Is this organization really trying to win now as they state so that’s why they don’t rebuild or is the mgmt that incompetent?????

Flames are gonna miss the playoffs, finish in the bottom 9 and win the Bedard lottery. I mean they are gonna have the first overall eventually, so why not this year?

Please hockey gods, we've tried to do things honorably. Top 3 plz.

Stetcher!!!

There is the depth defenseman we didn’t need.

Screw this organization. If this is it I am fine if Treliving is fired this afternoon

I hope Brad gets really mad and defiant when he's swarmed with questions about doing nothing today

and just like that the Flames go from a N/A rating this deadline to a loser rating for acquiring a depth forward and depth dman

Essentially Tre did nothing, which is good. At least if you compare it to the expectations that he's gonna trade 1st and 2nd 2023 for some depth.

Ownership might be ok with Flames finishing low this year and hoping to draft high, at least there wasnt a desparate trade trying to improve playoff chances

Props to the Flames for at least not being dumb enough to actually spend draft capital here. Shame on them for not taking advantage of what was clearly a buyer's market.

I guess yay that we didn't waste picks.

But how bad is it that we have to be happy that our management didn't waste picks as a positive? The team is not improved, the teams isn't in a better position now or the future. This is a team that needs massive changes and the team has shown no indication they will do it.

That is my biggest concern, I know they can't move everyone out now but it would have been nice to see at least some sign that they realize we need changes and instead we get nothing. I have zero trust that this team will make the right moves in the summer and this deadline just reinforces that.

At best a C grade and that is probably being too kind.
