Both and a top prospect
Both is hard to stomach. So to me if you want both, you'll need to give up 2 out of these 3.
1st rounder 2021
1st rounder 2022
Swayman
That satisfies the 1st OR top prospect for each of Manson and Rakell.
So now it's the "plus". Safe to assume the "plus" will be lesser asset(s) than the 3 mentioned above. So for arguments sake let's select from the next tier of prospects/young players. So pick one of Studnicka/Frederic/Beecher/etc.
Can a team that has now dealt a 1st or 2nd rounder in 4 consecutive drafts, has virtually no high-end skater prospects to speak of, really afford to give Anaheim another Top 30 pick, a second Top 30 pick or their best prospect in Swayman, AND a choice of prospects from the next tier, to have Manson and Rakell for the remainder of this season and next? I haven't even looked at the cap implications.
It's a stiff price for a team that has spent considerable currency the past few years chasing success. Seems more like a move for a team that has been stockpiling for awhile and now believes their time has come.
