Did Lou get sedated this year or is he delusional enough to think the Isles are a championship contender as is?

^^^^^^

we traded a 3rd rounder for a few years of MoJo, and return him to another team for a 4th. we lost 1 round of a pick for 2 seasons of MoJo

We also got a 26 year old Mojo with term and traded away a 28 year old Mojo on an expiring contract. Pretty solid return. A first would have been nice, but that's not a realistic ask.

we just got two picks from the team that employs the guy who put mojo within two more concussions away from his brain turning into apple sauce

perspective

Which is EXACTLY why a 2nd and 4th is still a good return. Because we all knew (and Shero too) MoJo was going to get concussed twice in his first season with the Devils basically rendering him useless until recently. Think about the return if Johannson wasn't playing as well as he has in the past month or so.

Yeah we're lucky his play picked up fabulously just in time for the TDL, I'm totally fine with recouping a 2nd here for a player we'd likely lose for nothing anyway.

Pittsburgh now has two of the biggest negative impact defensemen in the league in Jack Johnson and Erik Gudbrandon on their team.

We should've just drafted with the 2nd and 3rd we traded for him in the first place...we would be ahead of the game now

It's easy to say that now, at the time we thought MarJo would be part of the long-term solution the way Palmieri was after we traded for him. There was no way to know he'd stink and be on and off IR his first year plus as a Devil, basically becoming a damaged player until his deadline-value saving surge. They made out just fine considering the circumstances.

This trade just shows we are still in for a long rebuild. Thats all.
