Whatever happens I just want an entertaining deadline. That's a lot to ask for from this team tho
Idk what to think if they go through another deadline without getting scoring help when it is so blatantly needed though
You can't give up assets for a defender (and that seems likely based on Sekera being waived), and then choose not to address the Middle 6. It would be stunningly dumb. If you're going to be a buyer, which is already a stretch, ignoring the biggest weakness would be fairly unbelievable if it wasn't the Dallas Stars.
Nill's mentioned adding a forward twice. Hopefully, that seriously happens if they go down this defender path as well.
How does adding bishop free up any space for tampa ? They would have to send a contract back . Adding a player who’s on LTIR doesn’t do anything .Despite the GM's protest about cap space, Tampa Bay clearly has the ability to add. They've shown a willingness to add LTIR players (Seabrook) to manufacturer cap space, and beyond that, they've can use a 3rd team to retain. Now I could buy a reluctance to give up premium assets though. They have virtually no depth outside of their Top 6 though. Perry has been putting up decent points though.
I think Radulov actually makes quite a bit of sense for them because his acquisition cost will be low.
Even if the trade isn't for a Dallas roster player, Ben Bishop actually makes quite a bit of sense for Tampa Bay. Dallas can only move Bishop if they go full sale since they wouldn't require LTIR any longer. They're already committed to 2 more years of LTIR with Seabrook. Tampa is already a contender and potential favorite not making any moves, but adding Bishop gives them an opportunity to load up some value trades (Radulov) or even a bigger fish (Pavleski).
Still here . This week was my birthday though. Also really not a fan of the new desgin ...
I've always wanted him for the comedy of getting to reference the best martial arts movie ever.Pretty sure this board was asking for a De Haan trade when the Isles were looking to dump him years ago. Nill will pick him up 6 years from now

And I think this comes from Bowness living the idea of his third line only focusing on defense, which is very much an old way of looking at how lines are built. The old idea of having one line you designated checking line where every shift where they get back to the bench with no goal scored is all they need for the shift to be called a success.Part of the reason why we never saw Peterson-Seguin-Radulov, and Raffl-Benn-Gurianov for longer than they probably deserved even though both lines have way better defensive numbers than FCC 2.Bulls**t is that there's no way Bowness is about to play Faksa 4th line minutes. So where does the mystery winger go? Replaces Gurianov, who then goes back down to the 4th line so that Winger X can be stuck with Benn and Seguin's poor defensive play? As long as Bowness maintains that Benn and Seguin can magically rekindle that old flame eventually, or that Faksa scoring a goal every four months is acceptable, even a forward who can make a different may struggle to make a difference just by virtue of Dallas' stubborn deployment.
It really is the best of the bestI've always wanted him for the comedy of getting to reference the best martial arts movie ever.
Likely a move to get more flexibility for the deadline. Might not need it but if they do they can send down Sekera or the team that gets him back in a trade if he'd be included.
