Trading him doesn’t leave us with any additional cap room.

In fact, it takes away the 2.25M of LTIR space we can currently still use.

He won’t be traded

Trading Andersen would leave the Leafs with the exact same amount of free LTIR space.

$5m cap hit gone. $5m reduction in LTIR pool.

I guess if we could do a 2nd + prospect

I just don’t see that happening though haha
Neither do I but Dubas has enough room to make a decent add especially if there is cash going the other way and the 75% retention that have been so popular this deadline

With the Rittich acquisition I’m not seeing an obvious path to activate Andersen off LTIR before the end of the season unless someone currently on the roster with a $1m+ contract is traded away by tomorrow.

Here's to hoping Kerfoot gets shipped out.

Ive long thought Hakanpaa could be a target

Would be cheap, easy to acquire. A guy that can be swapped in out of the lineup if injuries happen.

Hakanpaa for 2022 5th + Rindell/Fusco.

andy is done,,his injury requires surgery to fix,,he could play on it if he wanted to

but we have grounds to keep him LITR till reg season ends

Oleksiak for Dermott would fit under the cap.

Not sure I’d do it. Dermott-Bogosian has just worked so well.

Would prefer add a depth RD.

It would be absolutely bonkers if Dubas makes another significant move like that (whether it be Hall or someone else).

Im expecting a bottom pairing/depth d-man

If he does though, imagine having to deal with Galchenyuk-Matthews-Marner and Hall-Tavares-Nylander back to back, and then instead of getting a breather you get Foligno-Engvall/Kerfoot-Hyman forechecking the living shit out of you. And then Spezza abuses your 4th liners.

I want to add to our D in case of injuries. I don’t like the idea of trading Dermott for another Dman cause we are in the same spot if someone gets hurt.

Do the emergecy loans count against the cap?
Because if they send down Hutch and Barabanov, I think they have about 3.8 M in cap.
