ROZSIVAL AND HIGGINS TO THE BLUES
The St. Louis Blues and the New York Rangers have agreed on a deal that is sending some well known players both ways.
The Blues have traded forward Paul Kariya, along with veteran defensemen Darryl Sydor to the New York Rangers in exchange for high priced Michael Rozsival, forward Chris Higgins, along with three draft picks. The Rangers 2nd in 2010, 3rd in 2011, and 5th in 2011.
My view on this deal, Taking two more years of Rozsival's salary isn't going to hurt as bad as expected. The Blues are trying to move defensemen in Eric Brewer or Barret Jackman.
The Blues have grabbed a very underrated forward in Chris Higgins. Some feel he is a little overpayed, but being a free agent as the end of the season, the could try and resign him for a little less money, depending on how his season works.
The Blues also acquired three drafts picks, a 2nd round pick in 2010, then a 3rd and a 5th in 2011.
The Blues in return are sending Paul Kariya and veteran defensemen Darryl Sydor.
This deal is pending league approve on Paul Kariya's NMC being waived to go to New York.
