TSN has way too much focus on gambling. Up and down, it's constant. I don't notice that at all with Fan590. Just thought it was odd.
I wish to thank all the Proline players for paving the roads and building transit for us all.

Way back in the past there was an advertisement on the FAN 590, I think they killed it 10 years ago, where a secret agent of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario or Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission as it was then, would provide just horrific gambling advice, with at least 1 of the 3 picks being brutal.

But I found the idea of the casino providing gambling advice to gamblers odd, the fact that gamblers acted on that advice was utterly hilarious, as were the bets advised, "Can the Yankees keep winning at home, take the visitors in an upset" "The New England Patriots have won so many in a row, time to burst the bubble and take the underdog" "This is the year! Take the Lions at home on American Thanksgiving!"

You want to see Jamie's biggest issue? He did it again today.
Hayes was saying he's still not big on the Habs. He says they still don't have enough scoring and said even Anderson isn't a guarantee. Jamie in typical Jamie fashion then says "well going to the Leafs, who is scoring aside from the big 4? Nylander only scored 30 once, he had 22 goal seasons before" Like why are you bringing the Leafs into it? That has nothing to do with the topic. Siegel then responded well and said "the difference is Leafs are getting 50 goals from Auston and guaranteed at least 30 from JT".

 It’s always stupid whatsboutism whenever another team, usually Canadian, is rightfully getting dumped on. Contrary to his (and many on this very forum) opinion, we are able to discuss other teams without having to bring up the Leafs.

“The aspect of this team sucks”
“WELL THE LEAFS SUCK AND HAVEN’T WON ANYTHING IN FOREVER SO SHUT UP!”
“Okay but that doesn’t change the fact that this team has issues.”

That was a great segment. Montreal should make the playoffs again this year, but time will tell if they the best D in Canada. Vancouver may have something to say about that.

Actually they were kind of praising Montreal and judging their off-season deals, rightfully so.

How the hell does Matthew Cause have a job? He's a blithering idiot. He must be married to some boss or owner of TSN. He's literally terrible.

Yeah it gets a tad annoying. I was getting used to Jamie, but then he does this again.

He’s just brutal. Doesn’t fit in with Jeff and Bryan, takes him forever to state the obvious, knows absolutely nothing about sports other than hockey. Here’s hoping they replace him with Tatti.
If they only replaced him with Tatti's mustache, it would still be an improvement.

in defence of all of the broadcasters- each and every one of them- the barrel runs dry and they need to fill the time.

Just try to find a story.

And every player has their Bul Durham answers, and rightfully so.

So, banter and fake disagreement, and crap radio. I get it.

Maybe, maybe, maybe there's a creative department at the station, maybe they can come up with a skit on all those slow news days, where some stupid play that cost the Leafs the game is the focus until the next game, and then there is something new to talk about?

Bad news, as I understand it, sells, but everyone loves a winner. So "If it bleeds it leads" but you need to pump the tires of your product: The Toronto Maple Leafs. And maybe that results in Love Your Amazing Leafs who have bad players who screw up! Today's guy for being pilloried for costing us the last game until the next game is: X

Honest questions:
1, are they supposed to prepare in advance?
2, Aside from the local press, the Hockey News, and the Athletic, what else do they read up on?
3, Does the producer do a lot of research and provide talking points to each to fake a debate?

I imagine it is a lot harder than you think to keep this big Leafs coverage operation going all year long with 2 sports networks and 2 radio stations trying to find hard-hitting and breaking news, like the socks some player was wearing. In a normal year when it is 30 degrees in July or in the dog days of August, it must be difficult to stay excited about the Leafs and much, much easier to keep one's pants on.

Jesus Christ this pains me so much I know the point Noodles is trying to make and he’s still only 1/4 done his thought.

Just as bad as when other sports talk always comes back to hockey for him.

Huge blockbuster trade in baseball. “What’s the NHL equivalent to that?”

So and so is a great clubhouse leader. “Let me tell you — we had a player just like that in Cal-GARY...his name was Jarome Iginla.”

No one gives a crap, Noodles.

anyone else find Adam Wylde super annoying on the Steve Dangle Podcast? I think Steve is very level headed and overall knows a lot about other teams around the league and Jesse adds in very thoughtful questions that actually make sense. Adam im not sure what it is but he just seems like a know-it-all type who doesn't know that much and I swear when he says something on the show then the next day the opposite happens

I was completely disgusted with Pierre McGuire and Craig Button yesterday saying how the Leafs signing John Tavares turned out to be a bad idea and using the flat cap as a reason, even though Kyle Dubas had no idea on July 1, 2018 that a global pandemic would be the reason for that.

In a vacuum its a no brainer deal. But I think it hurt their salary structure cause it kinda set the tone for Marner and Matthew going into contract negotiations. Kyle was banking on those contract not being an overpayment with the cap increasing over time but I guess that backfired. I think the leafs are lucky though that there is atleast agreement that the cap will stay the same and not drop

The others have caught on too. Hayes will cut him off before Noodles can get started on one of his long winded, endless rants.

i know the point noodles is trying to make before he starts talking. All he does is talk in circles a cliches, always whataboutism as another poster says. Hayes or odog are never allowed to praise a leaf player without noodles jumping in with a "what about <so and so on whatever team> hes a hell of a player". And notice its always the leaf player has only done this once, im genuinely surprised noodles didnt reply to siegle with "matthews has never hit 50"

Worst part is his wife is a producer of the show or something along those lines so I don’t imagine Noodles is going anywhere anytime soon.

Aside from going to the movies in the middle of the afternoon solo he doesn’t sound like he has any hobbies either.

Yeah at least Cauz gets it. Other radio guys break his balls a lot about growing up with boats and fancy summer homes.... he’s usually a good sport about it. Just cringey when he gets going about wine.

He's taught me a lot . His advice comes in handy when you're not a wine drinker and have to deal with pretentious clients.
