Man just watching Henrique's shootout attempt again. Henrique is just beyond bad at shootouts. Career numbers are like 1 for 8. You got a better chance of Harrold or Volchenkov scoring in the shootout.

There's no reason to put him in the top 3 ever again, or even the top 6 or 7 unless half the team got food poisoning and are out of the game.

There is really no justification to use him anymore unless there is a weird set of circumstances. Like a really long shootout or half the team out of the game.

Agree 100000%. Same with Trav.

Fresh blood needed in the gimmick contest.

Should have won in reg tonight.

I wouldn't use Zajac either in the shootout anymore. Unless it's a really long one or half the team is unavailable. Some of the call ups might even be better options than him and Henrique.

Zajac unlike Henrique, used to actually be decent in shootouts. It disappeared somewhere with the rest of his offense.:(

Good news is Pete is growing to trust Loktionov and Teddy more. Both have grown up a lot. It's fun to watch Loktionov play defense now. Before it was a chore.

Funny how quick people have come around on Henrique in the shootout. When everyone was DYING for him to be in the shootout earlier in this year I pointed out how he wasn't some no-brainer choice cause he was 1-6. Everyone cried 'small sample size, bro'.

Very much agreed. They are doing some good work with him and I honestly like how he looked on the PK.

If the kid can just start shooting more he can become a good player.

Gelly continues to impress and I'm glad he is ok. Good things keep happening when he shoots.

Tedenby played 10:47, with really no time at all in the OT or much of the 3rd. I don't think he's 'trusted' more at all. Loik, they really have no choice right now cause their center depth is so bad...but three points in fifteen games, he's not doing much either.

I've been pointing it out the whole time. I don't think I've wanted to see him in the shootout since 11-12. The year he actually scored a shootout goal.

I think I was at the game where Henrique scored his one and ONLY shootout goal in the NHL. It was against Jose Theodore and the Panthers.

Actually I'm wrong. I wasn't at that game. Henrique actually scored in the shootout against Alex Auld and Ottawa. It was only 5 days before the game I went to, and we went to A LOT of shootouts early that year that they all kinda seem to overlap.

I am still chuckling at Gionta chasing Kessel before scoring like a grandpa chasing after a kid who just stole his power tool.

So I guess speed is of no concern for DeBoer in 4 on 4, and rested players may also keep resting, especially after back to backs like this.

Don't want to be some Tedenby fanboy but why the hell was he not playing in OT and why did he not get a shot in the shootout. He is the fastest skater on the team and he might even, you know, backcheck faster because of it. In case there is a 3 on 1 for example.

I actually have wanted to see Tedenby in the shootout. I figure maybe he can be a shootout specialist. Surely has to be better than Henrique and Zajac at this point. Can't be any worse.

I think Volchenkov or Harrold have a better chance at scoring in the shootout than either of those two.

Gionta was out there in the final 1:30 of regulation, as well. Really terrifying stuff that CONTINUES to happen.

Man I know coaches care about short-term more than long-term but I don't see how playing guys like Gio, and Carter over Josefson and Tedenby is helping short term or long-term.

Actually there were people complaining Henrique wasn't in that first shootout that went 6 or 7 against the Islanders.

Who else should have been in there? At this point pretty much anybody. Henrique has to have the lowest shootout percentage on the team out of anybody that has actually scored a shootout goal.

Lokti is like 0 for 1 career and Tedenby might be 0 for 2. Henrique is like 1 for 7 now and 0 for 1 on in game penalty shots. He's just bad at the shootout.

They are all bad at the shootout. Elias is the only one who isn't and even HE hasn't scored once this year yet.

The only solution is we need to avoid it. Regulation and OT wins from now on please

I've been saying this for a while now. We need to avoid the shootout. I keep seeing the same things in OT. All those good shifts we had for most of regulation seemed to disappear in OT. Aside from the 3 on 1 they played pretty good in their own end, but didn't generate much in OT.

It's like every OT game we play is obligated to go to a shootout. We rarely lose in OT, and we even more rarely win in OT.

God help us if we get Nashville's third string goalie on Sunday night. Just watched the highlights and the dude who's been their starter was absolute garbage tonight. 2 out of 3 goals given up were horrid. I'm not sure if I should expect a solid effort like tonight, or a zombie like effort like the two games last weekend.

Without having to read through post game interviews, did Zidlicky or Henrique offer up explanations as to what they thought of Kessel's skating speed while they watched him skate by and score?

Nope I don't think so. Only thing I read from Henrique was talking about his yet again pathetic shootout attempt.
