It's brutal. Still way too early to know much, but at least initially it seems to appear it was accidental due to a fire and/or power loss on the cargo ship. Hoping at least some of the people on the bridge at the time were able to survive.

A few thankfully survived, with this happening late over night it avoided having a full bridge of people at least

I was just in Baltimore over the weekend. It's really scary to think how close this was to where I was.

But more scary and sad to think of the poor folks who were on the bridge, and the boat crew who will have to live with the aftermath.

I went to college in Baltimore, so it holds a special place in my heart. A truly horrific sight watching it collapse so quickly. Hope that the poor souls on the bridge will be found. One of those worst nightmare scenarios you never think is going to actually ever happen.

I ponied up the $12 and have to say the lack of being bombarded with ads and constantly having to close the "continue without supporting us" window is wonderful. Some things are just worth paying for.

The Rolling Stojes committed a crime against humanity by going with Ron Wood over Mick Ronson when Mick Taylor left. Bowie had spoilt up the Spidess and Ronson was available. He would have seamlessly replaced Taylor and maintained the Stones elevated sound. Wood is ok but he doesn’t add much to the Stones beyond some play by numbers stuff. Ronson would have added arrangements and ideas to what was not necessarily a band about to precipitously decline.

Recently did the same and I agree. I was getting tired of writing up an entire post and then having to close the damn ad (which half the time with my fat fingers ended up in me opening the damn link in the ad instead) just to post it. So, good job ads, you annoyed me into giving HF $12.

Anybody planning to travel to see the eclipse? My wife and I are going to drive up to VT to see totality.

I have no doubt that traffic will be miserable, but I think it's worth it since there won't be another total eclipse in the US for 20 years.

I'm planning to do get my GF out fishing this weekend in Jersey. Probably just Round Valley as she is close to there and it's easy access. Anything I need to know from a regulation perspective? I can't find very detailed regs. PA has a huge list of tremendously detailed regs, but I can't find that for NJ.

Awesome. I'm probably the worst person to ask because I almost never pay attention to the regulations... I catch and release,use single hooks and never use live bait so special regs almost never apply

But I'm pretty sure the only special regulations for Round Valley are the "Trophy Trout" regs. But if you release everything none of it matters.

If you have some extra time don't miss Ken Lockwood Gorge. You'll be right there. Even if you don't fish it, just walk it the trail. It's really nice. Hope you have fun.

But I have been self regulating even before state agencies figured out to leave bass on beds or trout on redds alone...those things didn't exist in the 80's yet ethical fishermen knew enough to leave them alone. It was ethical sportsmen along with biologist that got many of those regs put in place.

I find if you operate with a high ethic level, you're never going cross a Fish and Game regulation as long as you know the season dates...and even season dates are typically dictated by natural cycles that if you are in tune with you'll never have a problem. So when I head to the water I rarely concern myself with regulations.

If mayflies are hatching on a river, it's never going to be a closed date. My equipment choices cause minimal harm and with a self imposed 0 creel limit....I will never be in violation of a rule...I don't even carry lead on me anymore.

Haha no no, I get it. And I hear ya. We just have some odd regs here that, as a fisheries biologist I don't even understand, and I honestly just don't want my GF to have a bad experience of being in violation of some random thing in a state whose regs I'm completely unfamiliar with. But yes, I've never in all my years fishing had a bad run in with the pfbc. If you are a good steward of the environment they are going to likely just have a nice conversation with you and be on their way.

I've hated twitter for quite a while because they don't let you view tweets and accounts unless you're a member.

I don't wanna sign up. I have nothing to say on there.

But I do like to read tweets from hockey reporters and stuff like that.
