If the German keeps playing good, then maybe we can just trade Varly for a late 1st rounder, or early 2nd rounder to a team that desperately needs him. I would not mind adding another 1st rounder in this years draft.

I believe they will add one top six forward UFA next summer. Meanwhile Jost, Kerfoot, Kamenev, Compher etc will be year older, more experienced and better. Add Ottawas 1st round pick (highly likely they pick an impact forward with the pick) and we're a lot better secondary scoring wise next season.

It doesn't matter who we are playing, when you lose 41 faceoffs and only win 23 you are going to get outshot handily.

It was a huge problem last year and arguably our biggest problem this year.

Mack is a superstar but 2-13 in the circle is very concerning.

Yeah. Team is definitely in "first line or nothing" mode right now. Not much offensive help from the blue line either.

-Grubauer was great. It seems to me that we have the best goalie tandem in the league with Nashville.
-After the first two games we have been completely a one line team. Something needs to be done.
-Landy is third in goals in the league. He is still the offensive handbreak in that line. Holding the puck too long an making bad passes but still seven goals already. Wow.

Guess it's a good thing the Avs are currently winning with zero goals from the defense in 8 games and counting, and virtually no help from players outside of the top line. I'm fairly confident they'll figure those issues out in due time but it's good that they're a good team despite not yet firing on all cylinders.

I wish someone could figure out why Nate has become so horrid at faceoffs. I mean, he's never been great but this is ridiculous. I know it's silly to complain about that aspect of his game when he's so dominant otherwise but I wouldn't think it'd be too hard to at least get him up to "decent."

Yeah, maybe Mackinnon and our 1st line can carry us to playoffs this year, then Makar will join us at the end of the season to help us push deeper in the playoffs. We have 2 starting goalies or possibly 3. Next year we will be contenders.

There is a solution: We all need to go create some Leafs threads. Those always get traffic, and we can really confuse the mainboards by creating threads praising the Leafs as the best team evar as non-Leafs fans.
