That's a shame. I wish he would demand a trade. It would really help the team.

I'm dreading this came out because he knows he's drawing back in the lineup tonight.

If I'm SB/JC I keep healthy scratching his ass until he does demand a trade. He clear doesn't think he's done and that he still skates well, so if you don't let him play eventually he's going to get so pissed he would demand a trade.

Force his hand.

Sitting Seabrook REALLY helped last night.

Are you reading your posts? KK is somehow a competent NHL D-man?

Sitting Seabs it's just a small step, time to start ridding the core and other slackers.

I'm on the fence right now but who knows maybe a new coach and or GM? I don't have all the answers but might be time to clean house big time if this continues next little while.

Just don't know who to bring in.

Of defensemen that have played 200+ minutes. 4th worst in CF%. 3rd worst in FF%. 3rd worst in xGF%. 4th worst in SCF%. Only 18th worst in HDCF%, somehow. Oh, and his PDO shows he is due for regression.

By the way....that list of defensemen that have played 200+ minutes? It's 165 players long....
Why is Colliton playing this useless f***ing turd?

I'm not sure how you can keep playing him, unless this organization absolutely does not believe in advanced statistics in any way... He's legitimately one of the worst D in the entire NHL. Bottom 5. It's ridiculous.

and its not only the fancy stats that tell you he is one of the worst players let alone D in the NHL

they skates like he is in quicksand, flops on the ice both voluntarily and involuntarily far, far too often, he stands around in front of the net cause he knows he can't skate and he attempts to push people around cause that is his only strength.

guy is not likely an AHL player at this point let alone NHL

I see only two reasons of being so bad.
1. You have serious problems with your health.
2. You don't care much anymore. You don't practice, don't keep your body fit.

He's only 34, not 44. Yes, he's seen a lot in hockey, but he is not the first at this point.

The game has gotten a lot faster over the past 5-7 years, and Seabrook is losing a step every year when he was already a little slow to begin with.
When everyone around you is faster, it doesn't really matter how well you are in shape or how good your health is.

I agree with @Hawkaholic but I think we gloss over the playoff wear and tear too much. It’s hard to know how much those playoff games are worth compared to regular season ones, but I’ll guess 5:1.

So that would put Seabrook at 1716 GP and Toews at 1534 GP which seems right in line with their performance decline. Would make Seabrook 41 and Toews 37.

I have never understood this viewpoint. It makes no sense. The human body has an amazing ability to regenerate and heal. I'd love to see some scientific evidence to support the "mileage" argument. Especially in your early thirties....

My stance is that the "mileage" excuse is bullshit, and it only matters with multiple significant injuries. You see the "miles" rack up on athletes that have injuries that you never fully recover from. Injuries where you are never the same. Toews and Seabrook have had extremely healthy careers, when you step back and look at them.

I mean, neither guy has even had surgery....

if this is all BS, then a ex player is who 50 yrs old can play and keep up with the younger players.

ok lets say he is 40 yrs then.

Well, they have been healthy outside of head injuries. That is the mystery of our time. We don’t understand their full impact. We also don’t know if they played through knee sprains and whatnot in the playoffs and what long term impact that may have had.

Look, I don’t think anyone expected these guys to fall off so far so young. There are probably a combination of factors that lead them to this point. Maybe Toews GF/wife took his fire away for all we know.

That being said, this organization was off the reservation in not treating their window with more respect, particularly in 2014, and signing Seabrook to an extension everyone could see would be a complete disaster.

If any player performed like what #7 has been doing, he would have been sent down or waived....It shows the lack of strong leadership at the coaching level....#7 taking advantage of his friendship with the coach.....They see it but they refuse to sit him...unreal.

totally way off on this post. the reason why #7 hasn't been move is b/c of his contract fine print.
