I don’t like our odds against Washington either, but they’d at least have a chance. Zero chance against Tampa

I actually think we can beat Washington.
If the CBJ continue their current trend they can beat anyone...

Finally back to hotel to relax... The CBJ dominated the Sabres tonight, the Sabre fans are a hurting fan base.... Our fans screamed CBJ at the end.... What a great game!!!!!

Looking like the Caps again, if so, we have a chance to advance...

Also, I have to think Murray is being held for the playoffs , seeing him in the locker room the other night . Add him to the mix with the way Kukan is playing as well , and that is a hell of a unit
I’d like for you to be right about Murray. If so, though, I’d like to see him get a game or two before any possible playoff games. I just don’t like the idea of his first game back in such a long time being a playoff game.

Washington isn't that scary. As it stands right now, we are +25 in goal differential. The Caps are +33. Tampa isn't even on my mind right now. The Caps may score a lot but they've given up more than the CBJ too, which says a lot with how a lot of this season has played out from a CBJ perspective.

I didn’t realize we’re at +25. That’s not too bad. These last 4-5 games have helped, but they count.

We were in the low single digits 10 days ago but I think it shows we are more evenly matched with the Capps than people think. We spent a lot of time this season giving up 5 goals a game and still gave up less than the Caps.

We beat Washington in a series , Tampa , not so much

By "Bob not losing his shit in the PO" I obviously meant "playing well", pretty much the way he does now. Even if they lose it has to be not coz of Bob as it happened against Pittsburgh a few seasons ago.

If he allows 4-5 goals each game again with 0.86-0.88 or so then "its Bob losing it", no matter what the defense does imo.

Well that would be true if you look at the entire season when the Caps were just coasting along after a short summer.. Why dont you try looking at the numbers post All Star break. The Caps are playing incredible hockey right now..

Well that is great if it actually meant anything come playoff time…

That was probably the night there was many buses they brought down. Our whole section was drunk Sabre fans being super obnoxious. At least they left unhappy that night.

I remember that game. There was one exceptionally inebriated co-ed who was setting a new low in social behavior. Eventually she was escorted out of the facility by uniformed associates, screaming obscenities the entire way.

It is unfortunate that you tend to remember the 1 out of 100, but then again, it wasn't just one...

Then I guess you are happy that we are hoping to play you guys over the Lightning in the first round as it plays directly in your hand!

Completely agree.

And given last year, I've kinda been itching for a rematch ;)

I actually think we can beat Washington.

I did last year, and once Holtby got in the net it wasn't much of a contest. I think we could beat them too, but I wouldn't say its likely.
I like our chances against Washington as I think we roll out 4 stronger lines than last year and have more depth than the Caps. Having Murray back would help a lot, but in the end much will hinge on the play of Bob. He will have to be better this year.

If Bob is Vezina Bob and not Playoff Bob then they could give anyone a run even Tampa. Not saying they could win but they could challenge. If Bob is Playoff Bob then they could have lost to Buffalo last night.

In all fairness, this CBJ team is dramatically a better team. We aquired a #1 C, in Matt Duchene, and PLD can play the #2 C position. Last year Wennberg was in that role, before he got hurt. Defensive core is much deeper. Bjorkstrand, Anderson are dramatically improved. Cam is better. I'm not saying its a slam dunk, but I think we come out of that series a winner.

I barely remember it. What I do remember is that when healthy, Pazzy was an amazing goalie. And without his injury, we never found Steve Mason, or traded for Bob.
Yup Leclaire was damn good when he was healthy. The problem was he made Ryan Murray look healthy in comparison. Injuries followed the poor guy around .

Who gets facial bones broken while he's on the bench as a backup goalie?
