There were 2 outs to boot. All 1B had to do was touch 1st base.

Yeah, it's insane. Unbelievably stupid by the Pirates.

Even if you don't touch 1B, he could've tagged the runner rather than throwing to the catcher trying to tag the guy running home.

Even if 1B did not realize there were 2 outs, are players not communicating on the field? SS/2B should have covered 1B way sooner or maybe he got hypnotized by all those fails.

- Fernandez advanced.

- Osaka withdraws. She said before the tournament that she wasn't going to do any post-game media and they fined her 15K and threatened to expel her from the tournament and any other Grand Slam.
