Donny B really going after him.
He questioned why Marc Crawford is being be considered for the HC job when he was partially responsible for this team being last in goals against for the past 2 seasons. He was pretty direct and to the point, very refreshing coming from anyone in the Ottawa media. What was asked? I cut out.
Fair question and I just saw his answer which is fair. I did see improvements overall under Crawford to warrant him being a candidate. He questioned why Marc Crawford is being be considered for the HC job when he was partially responsible for this team being last in goals against for the past 2 seasons. I can only assume that he was escorted out immediately after he asked the question.
Not sure if people actually wanted Pierre to say that they are hoping to win the lottery next year. Everyone knows they will not contend for the playoffs, but saying to try and make the playoffs is just as basic a goal that can be said. They all say that. Oilers have said that. Buffalo has said that.
Not sure why the anger over it.
"Inflectious"
I appreciated this.Well I must say the backend of his interview was a bit better.
He apologised for some past quotes and seemed at least aware that there is discontent in the fanbase now. It's progress.
He shouldn't have said anything honestly. I realize he's in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation (of his own creation) but you can't tell people you're gonna push for a playoff spot next year on the same day you're about to hand over a top-pick because your team sucked so bad for the better part of two years.
I appreciated this.
It's baby steps, but my issues with this org are almost entirely about the insulting, patronizing and condescending manner in which they've dealt with and communicated with the fans.
It was good that he acknowledged that he has to remember he is a GM, and not a head scout. Baby steps indeedOh yeah I agree.
But the first step in rectifying the relationship, is admitting there is a problem in the first place. In past interviews, they were acting as if everything was rosy and they had full backing of the fanbase.
I agree, there is still a long way to go, there can talk as much as they want, but until there is action behind the words, people will continue to be skeptical.
Which he will unreservedly proclaim to be "as good as a top 5 pick."Dorion had to do the interview today because when they lose the draft lottery tonight he won’t talk again until pick #19
Agreed. I wrote that out strangely, but I meant to say that I felt like he did acknowledge some of my concerns and I appreciated hearing that for what feels like the first time.Oh yeah I agree.

That's terrifying. We're doomed. It was good that he acknowledged that he has to remember he is a GM, and not a head scout. Baby steps indeed
What pain? We don’t have the pick. Full stop.I'm just not sure how you can say the worst is behind us when we aren't totally sure how much pain is gonna be inflicted at the lottery

The matter of our first round pick was decided a long time ago. The lottery is irrelevant.
