So the, I ran across this thread started by Oilers fans...
first time on hf in almost a month. first thing i go to, trade thread... i see 2. hanifin and seconds for jt miller and firsts, then i get back on later (now) and i see hanifin and the rest of our team for draisaitl and some guy other guy... then ask slavin and pesce for him... is this site just going down hill or are the oilers fans just getting worse...
i know they have i have almost always looked at the trade proposals for us on the trade proposals board and know that. it just seems even worse now then last time i was on.Oilers fans have always had very distorted views of the values of their own players and those of Eastern Conference teams outside of Canada.
Literally until the second the Larsson trade occurred, Oilers fans were posting that the Oilers would never move Hall for less than an established under-25 1D.
patches and a conditional second for hanifin and a conditional first... marner not worth hanifin and is 2 tiers above aho... there is def something in the water...Let's not limit it to just Oilers fans. Between them, Habs, and Leafs threads I wonder if there is just something in the water up there that creates stupid proposals.
Then again, there is this widely held opinion on that board that all Canes players are overhyped garbage because the team can never make the playoffs, and as such we should just shut up and be thankful other teams are even interested in our crap.
I feel like someday we should just return the favor.i know they have i have almost always looked at the trade proposals for us on the trade proposals board and know that. it just seems even worse now then last time i was on.

...while some here say there aren't any dance partners for Ronnie. Why Ron Francis sits on his ass and doesn't take these generous offers I don't know.

I’ll have you know they’d be doing is a favor with that one. Didja know that Faulk only has one more pint then Russell this year?My favourite by far was Russell and a 2nd for Faulk.
Faulk is trending massively downhill. We can only expect a "minimum return" on him, really.I’ll have you know they’d be doing is a favor with that one. Didja know that Faulk only has one more pint then Russell this year?
Anyway, the real kicker is that Russell is from Caroline. It’s a match made in heaven.
Weren't there Canes (and other) fans saying the same about RNH last year?
Whats funny about this is that, when you read comments from the Oil nation on those threads, Faulk won't bring you RNH. You're talking Hanifin+ to be able to swing that.I don't expect to steal him for peanuts, but I still don't understand why we would give up a top-pairing RHD for a 2C. The value isn't equal and will probably never be equal given that Nuge is now in the "what you see is what you get" stage of his career. Yet Faulk for RNH is regularly referred to as some sort of obvious fair deal for both sides. I don't get it.

I like this term - "all BBA on me" lolYep, Faulk is now only good for ~10/20/30 now, right? Before you go all BBA on me, I'm not necessarily saying that is what you're saying, but it is what Oiler's fans are saying.
All BBA = "the painful truth"I like this term - "all BBA on me" lol
I don't know. I don't see Faulk's situation any different than RNH's. Faulk has been inconsistent defensively though out his career, gets paid $6M (actual money), is a UFA in 2 years and isn't scoring, which is where his value lies. RNH averages 21G, 55 points per 82 games throughout his NHL career. Now, we can say he's injured too often, but we once said that about Williams as well.
Canes have had 1 player eclipse 50 points in each of the past 3 seasons. I'm not saying Canes should trade Faulk for RNH, but I can see why the Oilers would not do that trade either.
