I think the worst was when they crowded into the concourse at Ray Jay and started hugging fans and showing them the cup there. It was way too packed to be safe. Very concerned and hope it doesn't turn out bad.

I’m not surprised. While the local gov tried their best to control things and the boat parade and stadium set up were good ideas, some of the players were not being prudent. But hey, a bunch of 20-something championship winning athletes who have been in an isolation bubble and who have just consumed large amounts of alcoholic are NOT going to be prudent.

Though I do get annoyed by some on the main thread who instantly jump to “Florida sucks” comments regarding the players’ celebrations going over the line at times. Regardless of what team had won, the results would be the same.

Glad to see Point celebrating, maybe he's just a shy boi, I hope he knows he was the driving factor along with Heddy that won is this cup

Also, Gourdey has just been shirtless this whole time since winning the cup lmao

Just put the parade in perspective - if not for the City and County doing their best (to minimize the crowd), it would have been Gasparilla 2.0

Yeah, I'm guessing is all the COVID red flags as opposed to the alcohol and f shots *looks at Cup Ovi*

What Covid red flags? We are in phase 3 which pretty much means everything is back to normal except schools. There's no longer 50% capacity restrictions, large events can resume, you can't fine or penalize someone for wearing a mask. Anything involving the crowd being close to the players or drinking from the Cup is fine under the states eyes. The only issue there could be is players operating motorized vehicles while drinking. So Killorn on his jet ski if he was drinking would be the issue, not sure if any of the other players where operating the boats but that would be the issue. Letting fans drink from the Cup is not an issue.

We're not in phase 3 because we actually passed any sort of scientific threshold. We're in phase 3 because DeSantis said eff it let's effing gooooo!

Either way, if the guys weren't violating the local guidelines at that time, what can the league really do? Mayor Castor wasn't wearing a mask at RayJay.

What scientific threshold do you want? The active cases had gone down, the hospitalizations are down, the number of deaths are down. DeSantis said eff it because if you look around its business as usual anyway, might as well open it up fully in that case. Sure there will be some additional spikes along the way but it won't be anything like the first wave.

What level of subsidiarity is appropriate? At what level do we determine when to start caring about other people? NHL? Local? State? CDC?

If the NHL has rules in place that extend beyond the bubble, then they can act. It could open the league up to liability, and threaten their business, so I do think they have an argument.

The time from the guys leaving the bubble to the start of free agency is less than a 14-day quarantine. There will be NHL teams signing guys with COVID on Oct 9th.
