Guys, I need some help-
I'm in year one of my BAGM Mode with Calgary, and as expected I'm tanking. I have three first rounders in the top fifteen. Who should I take? Suggestiosn?

Vitannen, Richie, pepin, bobyk, and bailie are all solid prospects that occasionally fall outside the top 5. Any of the top 5 are good but if you get a shot at ekblad(1) or reinhart (2) go for it.

Joshua Ho-Sang always turns out for me too and he falls to about 15th usually.

I think if was my 2014 draft but top three picks were all 5-star goalies. One was American the other two IIRC were CHL goalies. I'll update this later tonight after my son goes to bed.

1. Clint Windsor - Colorado - 5G
2. Brett Moran - WHL - Minnesota - 5-Y
3. Junior Brouwer - USA - LA - 5Y

Drafted a 20 year old TWF that was 80 overall with 4.5 gold stars at 3rd overall. Flipped him and a couple of other pieces in the following offseason for the 1st overall in that draft. The player was named Brent Simpson, 20 year old sniper, 84 overall, 5 green stars. He was an 86 overall by season's start, 88 overall by season's end, 91 overall by the next season, and in year 3, is 94 overall, and he's still 23.

Not sure if be a gm and gm connected differ as far as players growth, but I have a few questions.

First, anyone know what these players tend to grow to:
Schiefele (c prospect), Petan (c prospect), Morrisey (d prospect) and Mueller (san jose d man), Nedeljkovic (goalie from draft)

Also, as far as players growth, is this just random? I know potential is there, but they don't always gain overall and such (lower overall players). Say a 65 overall 18 year old 4 green star player, would you just leave him in juniors and hope he grows? Would it matter if he was signed or unsigned? If you gave a younger guy 65-75 overall a little playing time in the NHL and got some points, would that help?

I don't now about GM Connected, but its always a crap shoot with players everytime. This has a nice little guide that I have found accurate.

http://crashthenet.ca/community/index.php?/topic/7054-nhl-14-progression-ranges/?p=59000

But as far as I could tell a 4star green player will almost always develop, where I had Sam Reinhart a 4.5 yellow star player be as low as 82, and as high as 91Ovr I find if you have a young playmaker, put him wit a older player who is a good sniper and he will do well. Grinders put with veteran Grinders and so on. The computer wont do this for you got to spend some times in your lines and figure it all out.

Have any of you guys figured out what factors into getting a player to change his potential? Or is it just random? For example: If i draft a 3.5 guy in the 2nd round and a few years later and somehow he turns into a 3.5 player instead. Its a cool new feature but i'd like to know if its random or not.

BAGM and GM Connected are dramatically different in player growth.

The link ToppsSmith provided to the data I've logged is down, unfortunately. Problem with the host for the website. Hopefully it'll be back up this weekend.

The current averages I have collected over 20 seasons of GMC are:

1.0 red = 57 OVR (105 samples)
1.0 yellow = 57 OVR (261 samples)
1.0 green = 59 OVR (5 samples)

1.5 red = 61 OVR (97 samples)
1.5 yellow = 64 OVR (363 samples)
1.5 green = 70 OVR (9 samples)

2.0 red = 67 OVR (60 samples)
2.0 yellow = 69 OVR (162 samples)
2.0 green = 74 OVR (1 sample)

2.5 red = 69 OVR (851 samples)
2.5 yellow = 72 OVR (683 samples)
2.5 green = 76 OVR (121 samples)

3.0 red = 74 OVR (308 samples)
3.0 yellow = 76 OVR (429 samples)
3.0 green = 80 OVR (34 samples)

3.5 red = 79 OVR (115 samples)
3.5 yellow = 81 OVR (230 samples)
3.5 green = 84 OVR (72 samples)

4.0 red = 81 OVR (37 samples)
4.0 yellow = 82 OVR (157 samples)
4.0 green = 85 OVR (53 samples)

4.5 red = 84 OVR (11 samples)
4.5 yellow = 86 OVR (90 samples)
4.5 green = 90 OVR (6 samples)

5.0 red = No data
5.0 yellow = 92 OVR (1 sample)
5.0 green = 98 OVR (2 samples)

When the website is back up, hopefully later today, I'll be adding another season of data to it and the thread will have typical OVR ranges as well as minimum and maximum OVRs. Once I've completed all 25 seasons in my test league, I'll also be posting graphs for each potential rating.

GM Connected is random as far as I can tell.

I've heard BAGM factors in playing time, but I admit I haven't spent too much time in BAGM this year due to the early progression and goalie rotation issues associated with the mode.

Cool, thanks guy. As far as growth time, is there a way to "speed" it up? Like if you gave them ice time? Or do you just have to let it happen and hope for the best

I just hope for the best. But even if a prospect is something like 75 OVR but has at least 4 star physical and shooting category with decent speed he is ready to play!

Ya its a great guide and hat I have used since I found it. Thank you for the hard work.

Just thought I'd add Yannick Webber as a D-man in this section. He only get to 79Ovr, however he has put up 2 seasons with 25G and 40 some assists. He is Affordable, and can own on a blue line. A great find

I traded for two young defenseman, one named Paul Goren (4, TWD), and Stanley Westcott (4, ENF, 99 FS, 90 CHK). And I drafted an offensive defense man named Taylor Weller who has 4 potential. I'm hoping that 1 of 3 will move up to green potential so I can try and figure out potential changes :naughty: I'll keep you guys updated :D

Boom: Nathan Winquist (2018 5th overall pick, 4.5): I had the 8th overall pick and thats where Winquist was supposed to go, since he was 78 overall I really wanted to get him so i traded up just to be safe. After the draft he was 4.5 (I had no idea) and 78 overall. After winning the Calder he's now 87 overall two years later and is a 40 goal scorer now (The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th picks were all 4 and Winquist was 5th overall).

Boom: Reid Boucher (*This one is hilarious BTW  *, 2011, 99th overall pick, 3.5): in Winquist's rookie season, after 20 games Boucher was ahead of him in the calder race and i really wanted Winquist to win so I traded a 3rd, 4th, and 5th for Boucher and buried him on the 4th line  . He went on to score only 35 points (compared to Winquist's 72). But as the next season started he was 85 instead of 81 overall. I figured it was because he had a good season and his trade value was huge so I was about to trade him at the draft and then i noticed he was 87 overall (99 in all shooting stats  ) and had a 91 point season while scoring 40 goals :amazed: . Poor New Jersey :naughty:
