Sens fans in some sort of bizarre dream like children the night before Christmas wondering about their presents - “should we sign Giroux, or trade for Kevin Fiala, or trade Zaitsev and Murray to Arizona for a 2nd round pick, or move the 7th for Nylander and sign Kadri”

Just so weird it’s like the fanbase all got really high, forgot what franchise they are cheering for, and refuse to come down because they like their new dreamland so much.

No… but they are a major one. They are a publicly listed source of revenue that can be compared vs other franchises (I assume you’ve googled the numbers). I have no idea what else was running during Covid 1.0 …

Why are you spouting off about 2017-19? Couldn’t care less and has nothing to do with anything I’ve mentioned.

What was Ottawa 2020 lottery revenue?

Either way, your off topic. My point is Mendes doesn’t choose to break this side of the story down. He’s baits the water with Phillips vs Scrooge stories.

The point is You're making shit up, again... Sens foundation brought in the bulk of it's funding from donations, which on their own in 2019 were enough to be more than 10% of other teams total revenues. 2019 was the last reported filing for the foundation.

Nobody should trust anything that comes from the top of your head since you've repeatedly demonstrated that you are making it all up.

Say it louder - you didn’t remotely Google anything on topic. 2020 lottery numbers are available. Even I can Google them.

Pretty sure there is a thread on them too that “someone” shut down.

Keep making things up and spouting it off as facts. You've made it pretty clear how trustworthy anything you claim is.

Oh Micker … nice try. Thanks for the Google stuff no one wanted.

You know what the year 2020 is … feel free to post that or unlockThe thread that has the discussion in it.

I’m not questioning your opinion.there are charitable tax laws that filter through what your getting at. Revenue Canada and Phillips may have different views. Zillions move around MLSE’s charities “operating expenses”.

What would Phillips say about the performance of the charity that season ? Off the top of my head they didn’t generate 10% of any other CDN city.

My point which you jumped on was about the part you the story Mendes chose to tell vs the parts he ignored.

Those decisions set him against the org and limit the chance they want to bring him in.

Bro please. Taking money out of a charity to use for personal or corporate means is not a tax issue. That's a criminal matter.

No one is talking about moving funds from one arm of a charitable organization to another.

Yes - that’s my point. Revenue Canada would decide what is above and below water.

Again with the deflection. You made up a number, devoid of any substance, got called out on it. You have nothing to back yourself up, because as per usually, you made it up out of whole cloth, so now you are trying to deflect with lame google jokes.
So your 10% number, anything to back that up? No? Didn't think so.

Dude it’s easy … look at the 2020 lottery numbers and stop getting so cranky. You keep screaming about Google and 2017-19…

Or … as is said unlock the thread with the discussion in it.

We had this discussion last year before you (who ever) shut it down. Sens we’re making $5000? or so off every 50/50 draw while other teams were making $10-$100000… it’s all there, the odd game was higher or lower or whatever. It’s a complete embarrassment and part of the story that should have been told by mendes about Phillips, the fans, and the org.

Colin White and Eugene Melnyk colluded to steal money from the Senators charitable foundations. Eugene saw your impassioned plea from the day White's extension was signed and was disappointed that he had overpaid Colin White by a few million over the lifetime of the contract so they hatched a scheme to siphon money from the 50/50 draws to reimburse Eugene and make it look like the 50/50 never even generated that money in the first place.

Again, it's pretty simple, 50/50 represents a small portion of the Sens foundation's typical revenue. Even if they drew $0 from in their typcial Donations line item alone is enough to be more than 10% of other NHL teams charitable foundation revenues. It's not complicated, you made up a number and can't back it up but as per usual double down on made up crap and can't take the loss and move on.

Absolutely not. 2020 numbers were all posted ... you’ve screamed loud about 2017-19 and how wrong I must be ….

every single Sens game was posted, it’s probably still there … As was every other franchise’s lottery. Its all in a thread you already locked … and I have no interest arguing with the guy who locks threads or hands out 5pts.

This isn’t about Phillips generating $5000 of revenue a game anyway. It’s about Mendes not working for the Sens cause of the stories he chooses to tell that cast shade in the Sens… and get gobbled
Up by fans like you sipping their $1 Costco beer at home when they should tough out Subberb traffic and catch a $25.50 game. He’d be proud to get your $2 a month and your staunch defense.

But Mendes was right all along and it had nothing to do with catering to anybody. It was about the truth. You forgot that part again.

You are talking about 50/50 only, I showed pretty clearly how that doesn't prove your dubious claim of 10%. Resorting to lame 1 beer attacks shows your hand, you have no leg to stand on

Well their biggest revenue source was community donations, which in general actually rose at the start of the pandemic. But keep deflecting away from actually substantiating your claim. We all know why you won't go out an back your claim up.

How can someone who composes sentences and spells as poorly as you think they have the upper hand in any conversation? Also, what does how much someone spends on a beer to drink in their own home have to do with literally f***ing anything?

true fans buy their Beer direct from Big Rig breweries, or at least they did until he cut ties with the org...

Normally I would agree with you but there's a number of things that make me optimistic we'll finally add legit talent this off-season.

1. Ownership situation - maybe the Melnyk girls aren't going to be penny-pinching quite as much as their father, and maybe they want to turn the Sens into a playoff team to improve the organization's value for an eventual sale.

2. Dorion - he's been an abject failure and is a complete incompetent, and he knows it. Paranoid sociopath will do whatever he can to try to save his job, as an objective evaluation from a new ownership group will almost certainly mean he's gone. I expect he'll add talent to this group to try to make the playoffs, as that's the only way he keeps his position.

3. Tkachuk and Chabot post-season interviews - they made it clear to Dorion they want legit talent added to the team instead of the usual bargain bin acquisitions that blow up in our face. Dorion lets his head coaches acquire players all the time, so it wouldn't surprise me if our most valuable players can influence our off-season plans.

You talk so much about $1 costco beer, that seems right up Melnyk's avenue. He'd probably just swap the keg, call it Stella, and funnel a few drops from each cup back in to the keg while he was at it.
