Seriously. Those guys a closers. Their depth is ridiculous. Obviously Nashville isn’t 100% healthy either but they didn’t even look like they missed Giordano or Backlund. That said they are definitely beatable tomorrow. Keep playing Hitch hockey, clog up the neutral zones, give them zero space and let McDavid handle the rest. I’ll take a 1-0 or 2-1 win any day of the week.

Now we have to hope to clog things up to beat them.
Man o man things have really shifted between these 2 teams.

Its been a long time since the Flames had more talent and depth than the Oilers.

I dont like it...dont like it one bit.

Calgary looking like world beaters the last 10 games. Keep in mind though this is the same team that went on a pretty brutal losing streak just after the start of the season. The difference now is they KNOW they're a good team. A great test for us. We win this game it will go a long way, but it won't be easy. And I don't think we should be disappointed if we lose but our guys were competitive. Calgary looks like the best team in the league at this exact moment.

Tampa and Washington would have something to say about that....

Man the Coyotes are banged up. They also just got Chychrun and Galchenyuk back as well. Next year when they have their full roster (and sign Austin Matthews ;) ) they will be a tough team to contend with.

Why in the world would the Blues trade Pietrangelo for Zaitsev and anything. That contract... woof.

Did the media actually toss that around??

The Toronto media (which is also known as Sportsnet. )

Thought this was interesting given today's game: might help make up for the brutal start to the schedule and the Europe trip.

If the Oilers win and Vegas loses, the Oilers will be in a playoff spot but that's weirdly NOT the ideal outcome.

If the Oilers win and Vegas wins in regulation, the Oilers will be 1 point behind both Dallas and Vegas in the Wild Card with 2 games in hand on Vegas. They'll be in striking distance of 4 playoff spots with games in hand on three of the four teams they're chasing.

Man.. what’s with scoring this year ? The amount of players scoring over a PPG is crazy.

Like.. what is Brayden Point gonna be making next year?

Pettersson is awesome. A couple of lucky ones tonight so far, but still. 4 pts so far and almost half a game to go...

... and no PP pts.

The main boards are comical with the Flames fans beating their chest.

*Grumble* we better beat them

Let them have their moment in the clouds. In their entire 45+ year history, they don't get to see the view from the top of the mountain very much. It's usually very brief.

I'm still of the thought they are massively over-achieving and their bubble is going to start to burst in 2019 (mind you everyone expected this to happen to Vegas as well last year). This is the season of the over-achiever in the NHL so far. When you look at some of the pre-season predictions in the media, the Canucks, Rangers, Hurricanes, Wings and Islanders weren't supposed to be very good and be potentially battling it out for lottery position. Some thought Buffalo would be down there again, but that 10 game win streak sure vaulted them, despite being on a 5 game stinker now. Yet they still sit 3rd in the Atlantic ( 4 up on Boston) and the Islanders are sitting in 3rd in the Metro with 31 points. The Rangers and Canes of all teams are nipping at their heels with 30 points. Even the Red Wings sit just 3 points out of a wildcard spot right now. Vancouver is another team that hasn't really been sticking to the script either being 4 points out of a wildcard spot in the West.

There's still 50+ games to play and lots will happen between now and then, but through the first 30 games there have been some surprises in the standings...what a log jam and so unpredictable.

It's really crazy to me how bad the Blues are this year. They have a pretty darn deep roster, but almost all of their players are underperforming. Wonder what's going on there. Is it the Ryan O'Reilly factor? He seems to be poisoning every locker room. Look no further than the Sabres this year without him. There's no way a team with their talent should be 3rd last in the entire NHL.

Yet ROR is having a great year personally so I don't think it's that...

He had some pretty strong seasons in Buffalo too. He was 1st in scoring once and 2nd twice in his 3 years there.

I don't know, it's just odd to me to see a team with that much talent struggle so mightily.

They lost Stastny, Berglund and Brodziak and added O'Reilly, Perron and Bozak. All three of them should be seen as upgrades on the guys they replaced, yet the Blues are way worse this year than last?

I feel like it's either the coach (but they already fired Yeo and there's been virtually no improvement) or there's a locker room issue. Could be that all of those guys they lost were important locker room guys and they added two guys with questionable reputations in O'Reilly and Perron.
