It is not the DD I am concerned with, it is the government intrusion in your life, when they come for your guns is that fine also? Lets get more cameras everywhere so we can be watched 24 a day. Once the door is open it never stops.
So that's why we shouldn't protect our cars from drunk drivers?

If you want to stop DD increase the penalty to permanent suspension and mandatory year long jail terms.
That doesn't work. You know that. There are only two ways that work to prevent drunk driver problems - either limit alcohol or limit driving. I prefer to limit driving from drunks. If I'm not driving and I want to get drunk, that's my business, not the government's.

All those tax write off "business" trips to Europe will be nice though.
They don't help if you don't make any money. I think he minority owner of the Coyotes and their losses probably keeps him in the red every year with not too much trouble.

Correct. Vaccine mandate coming. The gov't wants to watch your every move. They create the panic and fear, and then the solution of their liking and the public believe it. They want to control your life.

1984 is approaching rapidly. It won't end with "vaccination passports".

How could anyone, even a drinker, be against drunk driver guards? It keeps people safe, and it keeps a drunk from killing someone and ending up in jail himself. I have absolutely no patience or sympathy for anyone who drives drunk. Personal responsibility my ass. Personal responsibility is fine provided no one's life but yours put on the line by your choices. If I want to handle snakes, fine. I can get bit, no one else. If I want to drive drunk, not fine.

I like that the tech targets distracted drivers too. I've been hit twice by a distracted driver.

The NHTSA says driving a vehicle while texting is six times more dangerous than driving under the influence.

I only wish my car hadn't started when I got a DUI in Scottsdale in 2008. Made my life a living hell for about four years. 45 days in jail, 18 months interlock device, six months of mandatory rehab and fines and lawyer fees equaling over $10k. Not to mention losing a relationship and six figure income. It wasn't even an aggravated DUI and my record was clean with no prior DUI.

From a privacy standpoint, having Apple scan all of my photos is more worrying. And no, I'm not in favor of child porn, but if they can do it for that they can do it for anything.

oooooo, better turn that smartphone off. you're not using a smartphone to post here are you? Surely you've spoofed your IP addresses while you sit in a Starbucks parking lot stealing their wifi, yes? I mean, if you're gonna be paranoid, don't half ass it...because they can follow you around right now and have been able to for years....just like undercover cops could be sitting in the street right now staking out your house.

The question is, why on earth would they want to?

A better question is why are they doing it in the 1st place?

Change the law to any alcohol on your breath and you get 30 days minimum. Pull over, blow into this, your busted. cut and dried. No arguing about if you were "legally" drunk, blood test/breath test/timing, how straight you can walk and hop on 1 foot backwards while you touch your nose and say the ABCs backwards.

If you drink at all, you just cant drive. Its like speeding, under certain conditions, some people can go faster than the limit safely, you still get a ticket. Some can have a drink or two and be fine to drive as well.

I'm sure everyone here knows that police can analyze your car's black box post accident to determine fault.

"Odds are your vehicle is equipped with an Event Data Recorder, also known as a vehicle black box. And, your local police department is now fully equipped to retrieve and analyze the black box data and use it against you in court."
Your Vehicle Black Box: A 'Witness' Against You In Court

I like the new car safety measures to include semi-autonomous driving features. Might keep some texting teenager from crashing into me...again.

Indeed. And why do so many anti-government types also "support the troops" and "back the blue"? Whose side are they on?
It just so peculiar to me that the same agencies that have gone rogue, have infiltrated and some have even started these anti-government groups just to push a narrative. But of course let's keep that a secret.

BTW, I have seen and experienced everything I've typed. Also witnessed hit squads taking out journalists...

Yea, no.

We have some good people in government. For example: Jeffrey Rosen, then acting attorney general, and his assistant refused to turn the Justice Department into a tool to upend this country's peaceful transfer of power. I thought the guy was a Trump tool until recently when the docs were released showing him stand up to the President and refuse to announce that the election was fraudulent.

Our country was built on the foundation of peaceful transfer of power every 4 or 8 years. I was living in Mexico when there was a real threat of military takeover after an election. We were making plans of how to get out of Mexico should it have become a violent, failed state.

Honestly, I felt that same fear when the insurrectionists stormed the Capital and came close to having the 2nd and third in line for the Presidency captured or killed, in order to disrupt the transfer of power.

You don't like policies? Vote in people who you trust who echo your belief in a non intrusive government. Find a Reagan, a Goldwater or a Liz Cheney and vote them in.

Career politicians? Insurrectionists? Peaceful transfer of power? Give me a break!
