That happened in a 9-1 win against Atlanta, when Pat Quinn accused Bob Hartley of sending out his tough guys to beat up various Leafs players.Did not expect O'Dog to be on that list lol.
I wouldn't go as far as boring but he's a very grinding type of player. Tries to be heavy on his stick and push on players out of position instead of trying to deke around them. He's a boring player to watch and I don't mean that in a negative way. He's slow and you won't notice a lot of the small things he does like win puck battles and use his stick. He's not as exciting or fast as Marner or Matthews but he plays a smart game. Good positioning and a very lethal shot. Very composed.
Also bodes well for him game to age wellI wouldn't go as far as boring but he's a very grinding type of player. Tries to be heavy on his stick and push on players out of position instead of trying to deke around them.
I like his ability to force his way to the front of the net or into good shooting angles. I'm glad he's like this though, think it complements the other pure skill guys.
Remember the decade after Sundin left and we tried every one and any one as a C? Even tried JVR as a C.
And now we have 2 legit Franchise centers. Just wow.
yep,and a VERY LEGIT #2c as our 3rd C. Been a fan since 1972 and we have never ever had this C depth before. Insane.
yep,
even Keon, Ullman, Sittler wasn't as good as this.

Tavares contributed with his goal against Montreal which gave the Leafs a brief 2-1 lead and it was Matthews who won that game with the overtime winner.Good thing we have Tavares or we would be 0-3-0 on the season against the 2nd, 4th and 7th worst teams from last years final standings.
JT has helped us secure 2 wins already.

Tavares is awesome. A legit powerhouse elite #1C.
but maybe the best part for me is that he's going to make it impossible for anyone to deny that Auston Matthews is much better than just an elite #1C.
That is assuming Montreal still scores to tie the game at 2-2. If the game was still tied 1-1 maybe Hyman doesn't take that penalty which lead to them giving up the 2-2 goal.No Tavares = No Goal = No OT required as Leafs lose in regulation.
I remember signing Tim Connolly to be our #1 center Now we have 3 centres better than himRemember the decade after Sundin left and we tried every one and any one as a C? Even tried JVR as a C.

I remember he was the Leafs second choice as a UFA when they couldn't sign Brad Richards at that time.I remember signing Tim Connolly to be our #1 center Now we have 3 centres better than him
