I'm considering picking up Duchene in my league( we do total pts 1 year) and I had some questions. Who does he play with and will that and his ice time change when Ryan O'Reilly signs? How has he looked so far this season? My other options are Zajac and Skinner, in your opinion would Duchene be a safer option.

If he keeps playing the way he is, O'Reilly will share more icetime with Stastny than Duchene. He's been absolutely outstanding the first games of the season in every facet sans faceoffs.

He's been with Landeskog and Parenteau so far, we only expect Parenteau to remain consistent because Lando and he really don't seem to mesh and it is hurting Landeskog's game in my opinion.

Duchy would definitely be safer, I'd be more concerned about them going down with injuries than Duchy.

Thank you for the advise! I ended up taking Duchene. I'm liking your team this year and now I have some questions about Varly. Is he the clear starter? How is the time split with Giguere? The player I'm considering dropping for Varly is Hiller, my league counts saves, goals against, and wins for this year. Who is my better option? Thanks again for the speedy and detailed response. Another option is Crawford.

Your guess is as good as ours. I personally think Varly gets 35ish minimum. He is the clear starter, but Sacco likes to ride goalie's hot streaks.

For fantasy purposes, it's really a toss up between Varly and Hiller this year. Varly definitely has the better potential and I might swap him for Hiller, but both aren't surefire guys to get a lot of wins. I'd guess with the Avs defense Varly gets more shots against though.

Seeking a little advice; In a keeper league was offered Ryan Kessler and a second round pick (2013 rookie draft) for Brayden Schenn and Tyler Bozak. Don't know if Kessler's best days are behind him and the other question I have is if Schenn will ever produce at a top 50 player level. Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions.

Not really sure how your keeper league works with picks and stuff.. but Kesler is the best player in that deal by quite a bit. If it's just point-wise that is.. Bozak can be replaced by literally anyone in a draft and Schenn will top out as a Mike Richards type production wise, whereas Kesler can get 70+ (though I despise him).

Would you rather have Duchene on your team or Shattenkirk,Selanne and Scheifele. This is a Dynasty league that counts G,A,+/-,PIM,PPP,SHP,FOW,Hits,BLKS,SOG.

Just wondering who of the big three in this years draft do you guys think will have the biggest fantasy impact? In a dynasty league and through hard work and perseverance I managed to suck and win the draft lottery. You really need a better defense, but to answer your question I expect Mac to have the most fantasy impact right away. So I would pick MacKinnon. Though I would expect Jones (if you picked him) and Trouba to carry your defense by 14-15.

Thanks for the advice. I'm leaning MacKinnon even though the Av fan in me wants to draft Jones..

So I had to trade Getzlaf & ShattenKirk to get the #1 over all pick, and Stefan Elliott in my keeper dynasty league.

Good deal or no?

I finished #2 in the regular season, 8-2-0 (16 teams head to head weekly), and #3 in a 4 team playoff set with the Division leaders, 1-1-0. The match-ups are two weeks in the playoffs but there are only two rounds.

My Roster below, My actual roster page is here : http://theultimatedyansty.:eek...eek:.com/thread/517/colorado-avalanche-roster / If you scroll down you can see some of the trades I've made. It's my first year playing fantasy hockey.

Need to know who has the higher fantasy upside, Matt Tennyson San Jose, or Andrej Sustr Tampa. I have a 3rd rnd pick coming up and am looking for a defensemen with some upside. I also have an offer for the pick for Tyler Pitlick and Nikolai Khabibulin.
Thoughts?

It will be an interesting year for Barrie. If he continues what he showed last season, and his offensive game develops like is should. He could be a 40-45p defensemen as soon as this year. Good player to have in a deep league, especially dynasty league.

Alright, I need some advice/opinions. I play in a unique type fantasy hockey league where we draft real NHL teams and our fantasy rosters can only be comprised of players from that team. My last pick is up and I need some thoughts who might be the most competent left out of this bunch. My first two picks were Kings and Avs. So, which team would you take?

Buffalo
Calgary
Dallas
Florida
New Jersey
Phoenix
Winnipeg

I'd choose Dallas I think.. Benn, Seguin, Goligoski, Lehtonen etc... maybe Buffalo for Miller, Vanek Ehrhoff and with the possibility of those guys getting traded.

1st would certainly be Dallas. #2 I would go with Winnipeg. Question, if a player gets traded, do you still get to keep them?

Just to follow up on my fantasy dilemma, I actually ended up taking Edmonton with my third pick. I didn't list them because the guy picking before me took them with his first round pick last season and I didn't think they'd get to me. He took Dallas coincidentally and Winnipeg went before him. Thanks again for the help!

Fantasy help: Paul Stastny or Ryan O'Reilly

Hey guys, in my fantasy league I have the opportunity to pick up one of Stastny or O'Reilly and I was wondering which one you guys and girls think is more valuable? The stat categories are Goals (G), Assists (A), Penalty Minutes (PIM), Powerplay Points (PPP), Shots on Goal (SOG), Hits (HIT), Blocks (BLK). I am mostly looking for a high point producer. Thank you very much.

They should probably both be in the same neighborhood point wise. 15-20G 35-40A or something like that with an outside shot at exceeding that.

O'Reilly should probably outshoot Stastny. Stastny will most likely have more blocks and Powerplay points. Neither is a high frequency hitter.

I think it'll come down to who has the best chemistry with their line mates. Your guess is as good as mine.

O'Reilly - Duchene - Downie
Landeskog - Stastny - Tanguay
