It just seems likely that the sens will stop winning. They are 18-2-2 in their last 22. They won't go 9-1-1 in their last 11. How many teams have had streaks of 27-3-3? They are more likely to end the season something like 4-4-3. They play Rangers twice, lightning, red wings, capitals, penguins. Their only good spot is playing maple leafs twice. They also play panthers, flyers, sharks. And the hamburgler has shown cracks of mediocrity in the last two games. I think the panthers are more likely to go 7-3-0 than are the senators.

It's great to see the Bruins continue this free fall that over the last two weeks and I think they'll lose at least one more against the Rangers and/or Ducks. I think Ottawa's almost definitely going to pass them at some point this week.
The Sens have to start losing at some point. They've haven't looked as good over the last week. Overall, I think they'll go around .500 the rest of the way. The Sharks are better on the road than at home, but I still think the Sens have the advantage in tonight's game.
The Panthers very much control their own destiny. A week ago, I had no confidence that they'd win all three remaining against the Bruins. However, in both matchups this season, the outcome went to OT/SO, so it is possible to get at least say 5 points against them. I think I'm more worried about facing Ottawa next week. We're just notorious for going on up and down slumps. That can't happen even if the Bruins and Sens have small slumps.
I'm a bit worried now more with Bjugstad possibly out. You all know how those DTDs become DTWs and hopefully not DTMs.

You can think that Ottawa will cool down, but until they do, we do not control our own destiny at all. It's either you do or don't control it, and when Ottawa is 3 points ahead, with a game in hand, it's theirs to lose.

Our heavily disrespected team should've made it. We were good enough for 5th or 6th, we were screwed over enough to miss completely as a result.

The clear issue is the 5 game losing streak 9th set. Tragic. never recovered. There is also a 4 game losing streak sandwiched between some wins series 12..
The subtle element is we never won more than 3 in a row. Why? lack of scoring, plain and simple. A ridiculous amount of games we didn't score 3, a magic number needed.
Quicker start would feel than the 0-3 start for sure.
WE all know we need more scoring to stop the losing streaks, and score 3 goals a game to secure reg wins for next yr.
Till then thanks for following this thread, and having a relaxed non yelling site to come to and put things in perspective.
