Kassian playing with the twins probably means Burrows plays tomorrow night. Probably just a rest day.

I don't like the Oilers.

I like not liking the Oilers. The only teams I really hate are rarely played (Bruins, Hawks). It used to be great when the Flames, Aves and Oilers were the rivals as we played them so much. The last few years I couldn't care less about them.

Agreed. It's been boring having door mats night after night.

He's only been here a few days and played one game, I think they just want to assess what Santo/Richardson provide before they move Dalpe up and give him a chance.

Richardson needs a huge game if he has any faint hopes of not being a permanent member of the fourth line.

The Nuge is way head of schedule on his rehab from shoulder surgery and is due to return...

Nope not Saturday against your Vancouver Canucks but rather Monday against the Devils.

Oilers centre Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has been cleared by team doctors and is set to play his first game of the season on Monday when Edmonton hosts the New Jersey Devils.

Nugent-Hopkins, 20, was expected to miss at least one month of this campaign after undergoing season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder last April.

Sounds like he is pushing it. One good ding on the shoulder and that could all she wrote for this season.

Richardson won 7 of 10 face-offs (70%) and led the Canucks and was 75% (3 of 4) head to head against Pavelski who owned other Canucks centres (70% against Kesler and 63% against Henrik.

He was 2 of 3 (67%) in the defensive zone and 4 of 5 (80%) in the neutral zone. A massive improvement over last year's third and fourth line centres.

Is Richardson known for being good in the circle? Would be awesome if he could keep up a +50 FO%

It's hard to argue those numbers. I see your point. But, according to last years numbers, last nights numbers get put into perspective.

Year Team FW FO FO win %
2012-13 L.A 27 56 48.2%
Year Split FW FO FO win % 50%
2012-13 Home 17 34 50.0%
2012-13 Away 10 22 45.5%

2012-13 Shorthanded 1 2 50.0%
2012-13 Even-strength 24 50 48.0%
2012-13 Power play 2 4 50.0%

2012-13 Offensive zone 11 32 34.4%
2012-13 Neutral zone 10 18 55.6%
2012-13 Defensive zone 6 6 100.0%

He was primarily playing the wing given the Kings depth at centre.

He was 48.2% in 16 games last year, and 58.9% in 59 games the year before I think.

Ryan Johnson won a lot of face-offs, too. He's going to have to do more than win face-offs if he's to be an effective 3rd line player for us.

I was just noticing that, and to be fair, he did much better the year before with a larger sample size.
The problem is when you come in as a winger when the centre is tossed you have to make sure that you do not jump the gun and draw a penalty. So usually your numbers will not be that good.

Over his career he looks to be a bit over 50%.
