Well I mean it is an underwhelming Finals but at least no GS dynasty or Lebron James. Saric and Bridges may get a championship while the Sixers are licking their wounds and trying to figure out how to unload Simmons without getting role players back.
Seeing Bridges play well will sting a bit

Who friggin cares about Bridges and Dario. Nice players, but they are role players on a team with Paul, Booker, and Ayton. In all seriousness, good for them if they win a championship with Phoenix. They wouldn't be moving the needle in Philly though. The fact of the matter is until they deal with the elephant in the room and move on from him they could have 10 awesome role players and it wouldn't matter.

I have never gotten the obsession that Philly sports fans have with pining for players their team used to have or even worse, could have had if they drafted them. What other teams are or are not doing doesn't change the Sixers situation one bit. The Sixers are in the situation they are in because of Simmons, and completely whiffing ona number 1 overall pick in Fultz, and number 3 overall pick in Okafor. Add Bridges and Saric to this team and nothing changes.

I didnt even see Zumoff retired. I havent listened to the broadcast since they brought on Alaa, it was unlistenable.
Good luck in retirement to a legend though.
Would love to see McGuiness get his chance on TV.
He's also a legend and has been the most underrated voice in sports for 2+ decades.
I'd miss him on radio, though.

Hopefully they dont elevate Brian Seltzer. Dude is boring as dirt and looks and sounds like a Keebler elf.

can you imagine if they traded their picks for proven stars and maybe this tanking would have been worth it? both managements are at fault for this especially with the health of embiid. when embiid was making a difference you trade the picks for proven stars right there, there's no reason to rely on unproven players, that was what broke the camels back.

I hate when people make **** up.

-Simmons was drafted in 2016. Sixers were a 10 win team. Jo had yet to play a game.
-Fultz was 2017. Sixers were a 23 win team. Jo had played 31 games.

What proven star was coming in these years? Why would a 23 win team whose best player had yet to play 1/2 a season target them?

After 2018 the Sixers heavily recruited LeBron, inquired on AD and Kawhi, and were close on a Butler deal even before the season.
At the draft they traded Bridges for Zhaire and a 1st and then packaged the 1st + Shamet just to get 1/2 a season of Tobias.
Got Jimmy at a bargain but he took less to go elsewhere.
Gave Horford, a proven player, a massive deal.
Tried to get Chris Paul but he chose Phoenix.

If anything they were too aggressive. After 2018 Sixers were one of the premier teams in the league.
Late firsts arent bringing back proven stars in this sport so any pick after 2018 wasnt getting it done.
Trading the 1st overall for a 'proven star' in 16 or 17 was never gonna happen.
You can criticize Bridges/Shamet/1st essentially for Tobias but thats it really.

The whole point of the Process was to circumvent players not wanting to come here.
In the case of Jimmy they dont want to stay.
Phx got CP despite not making the playoffs for 10 years.
The Sixers got turned down by all the stars they wanted and they had to overpay just to keep Tobias.

Trading picks for proven players sounds fine in fantasy but this is reality.
Sixers core is 25, 27, and 28. We're still climbing the mountain.

and you are still stuck up hinkies butt and dont even care about how much embiid has left, when he has a career threatening knee injury or chooses to get out of this stick hole for a championship and this team is at the bottom again, you are still going to be happy with nothing and be proud of another 20 years of failure. that's what fans are brainwashed by dumb gms, be happy with players that play like crap and dont care about the result.

do you even care about being embarassing by the hawks where we could have had a championship? or is it all about players you worship and be happy with that?

Hinkieites are almost as bad as the cult of Hextall. The process was a massive failure.

And the reason the Sixers have Embiid is because of Hinkie. The problem with evaluating Hinkie is that he never got to finish what he started. It's like saying "Well that architect designed a really shitty building" when you find out that half-way through construction the architect and construction were fired and the ones who took over were filled with nepotism, changed the original design despite the foundation already being made and partial construction completed and even added an entire floor with absolutely no load-bearing supporting in it.

The architect and construction company which created the Sampoong Department Store in South Korea were likely pretty solid. Problem is after laying the foundation and partially constructing the building the owners paying for the construction fired everyone brought on a crappy crew to finish it and added that extra floor with non-weight bearing supports. It eventually collapsed.

The one thing you said which needs to be a part of the discussion about trading Simmons though is Embiid. Embiid *IS* the Sixers window. It doesn't matter if Simmons has 10 more healthy good/similar years left. If Embiid has 5 the window is 5.

Embiid has 2 years left. If the Sixers don't move Simmons and Simmons doesn't actually 'change at all' for the better next season. How likely is it you're having Embiid push for a trade?

highly likely, embiid is frustrated now with simmons and even throw him under the bus to the press after being eliminated even though he didnt mention his name, if morey doesnt move simmons, who knows how embiid is going to take it especially after blowing against a lousy team like the hawks.

i cant blame him if he does because of his health and he wants to win now before something serious does happen to his knee and never play again. he wants a ring.

Simmons and Doc Rivers but more the former rather than the latter ruined our best chance at a championship this season. Ben is the most infuriating bc he refused to prepare himself properly for 4 effin years and it all came to a head against the Hawks who punked him throughout the series.

The Process was a success right up to the moment when Bryan Colangelo selected Markell Fultz.
It was all downhill since the Fultz pick which seemed perfect on paper. Only a Philadelphia player could get unprecedented yips

Before the process when the Sixers had Holiday, Iggy, Turner, Hawes etc they made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs. After the process they have never advanced past the 2nd round. The only great player they got out of the process was Embiid, and if they end up winning a championship it's going to be because Morey acquires players to play with him. The idea of the process was to tank, get multiple high draft picks, and get multiple elite level young talents. Hinkie failed to do that and it's a fact. Noel and Okafor were horrible picks, and Dario never became the player he was supposed to be.

Colangelo sucked, but blaming him for the Fultz situation is revisionist history. At the time Fultz was considered by most people to be the top player in the draft, and on paper he was the perfect combo guard to pair with Simmons. Almost everyone loved that trade and pick at the time it happened. Nobody wanted Ball here, and most were against drafting another Duke player high with Tatum after Okafor was a bust.

that's why relying just on the draft is a big risk, you just dont know what you are getting from these players, that's why i said after embiid, trade the picks for talent because of embiid's health. that's why im still saying it now. trade for star vets dont care about age and get embiid a ring.
