Man o man how does Taylor do it?

Oilers drafted 1st overall 3 more times after getting him...

He gets traded to NJ and they now have two 1st overalls since he's been there.

Their name was not picked when they won RNH. That's what you're not understanding. They just finished dead last and because NJ won the lottery from #8 and could only move up 4 spots they retained the pick. If anyone from 2-5 won the lottery then Edmonton would not have picked #1 in 2011, hence they did not win the lottery.

Oh yeah, I see what you mean. I was confusing the oilers getting the 1OA with winning the lottery. My bad

Dude has had such a strange career. Been apart of some horrid teams (not his fault) that end up winning the draft lottery over and over again and yet the one time he makes the playoffs he wins the Hart. We may never see anything like this again in any sport, ever.

Now that Ovi has a cup, Hallsy is at the top of my list for players I'd love to see win. Guy is such an unreal hockey player, wears his heart on his sleeve, and is one of the few players in the league who actually has a personality.

He won a Playoff game after never going to the playoffs in Edmonton.

Won the Hart Trophy.

If that's "cursed" then I hope he gets more "cursed".

The Hart is very impressive. I don't know how winning one playoff game in three years (and in his career) is considered a positive. An improvement I guess, but still doesn't put him in good company.

I thought improvements were considered "positives" or did that definition change and no one informed me?

Poor Hall, most of the career he had to play with some of the worst players in NHL, so much you can do on your own

Make my day.
But what happens when a team, out of the playoffs, trade their first round pick for Taylor Hall ?
extensive modelling has revealed only two possible options

a) Hall's new teams' former pick wins the lottery

b) a universe ending paradox

league should come out with the "Taylor Hall Award" given to the team that wins the annual draft lottery
