Amazing regular season!! Congrats! ....but still not as impressive as the Canadiens only having 8 total losses in 1976/77 in 80 games.

Nobody """deserves""" to win the cup. If they're as good as the season suggests they will earn it.

Well say what u want, im stickin with that i feel they are most deserving as of now after the season they had

They are the definate favorites going into the playoffs

2013 hawks better
well they were on pace for only 61 wins so try again. And if you still think you are right, would you prefer we cherry pick Tampa's best 48 game stretch?

EDIT: just to prove you more wrong. Tampa's best 48 game stretch was 11/28/18 to 3/18/19, where they went 39-6-3 for 81 points(7 SO vs 11 SO for Hawks). That is a 67 win, 138pt pace. Regular season only, this season is more impressive. Obviously the hawks went on to get a cup, but that isn't the regular season

Except no salary cap back then. Imagine Steve Y. with unlimited spending ability, oh what a team we would have...
Your team could have spent as much money as they wanted for a decade and didn't.

Detroit, Colorado and New Jersey were where they were at in the 90's and early 00's because they not only spent a lot of money, but they spent it wisely and constructed great teams with great coaching.

The Rangers spent more than all of them and missed the playoffs quite a few times.

We won one cup in the pre-cap era. Since then, it's been brutal, but the formula is hopefully there. I'll get back to you in June on that.

Dude, the parity HELPED TB, not hurt them. Without the cap, Detroit outspends everybody else except the Rangers, brings in Malkin, Keith, and Doughty (Pittsburgh goes bankrupt again), and kills you ;)

We didn't have Vinik as our owner in the past either. Keep in mind our new owner, along with some cast off named Bill Gates, invested $1 billion to redevelop downtown Tampa. He would spend it if he could, trust me.

Is this a joke? That came at a time where the league had only eighteen teams and essentially no Russian or European players. The talent pool is much larger now and thus Tampa's feat is way more impressive.

It will definitely be a struggle trying to keep the group together down the line because of the salary cap. In those terms Tampa definitely is at a disadvantage.

I was more just emphasizing the fact that simply spending lots of money isn't conducive to winning and long-term success, as those old Rangers teams proved.
