Islanders need D. Canes have at least one expendable Dman. Possible deal that would allow Canes to acquire either Bailey, Grabner or Clutterbuck?

Ideally, they'd trade the Dman who's expendable, and then go make another trade for a new dman that is an upgrade.

Thinking ahead here for 15-16 so ignore the "14-15", obviously. This is assuming we buyout Ward and resign our most recent acquisitions (and Dwyer) for the same prices. Plus, cap probably goes up another $2 million or so.

No clue as to what Staal and Ryan will command at the trade deadline but they will be attractive options for any team gearing up for a Stanley Cup Run. Staal resigns at the same rate as Stralman and Ryan at Callahan's.

For Sekera, I took a hometown discount into account by averaging Stralman's and Niskanen's most recent contracts.
