Yeah I am going to go with Fiddler. Winning faceoffs leads to more production. I would say to sign Manny but he did not earn 2 years.

Trying to predict roster holes is an excercise in futility until Peters says what his plans are.

Is Skinner on line 1 or 3 being the question that everything else would revolve around.

Galiardi can play C and he did so early in his career. Depending on price, he could fit in on 3rd line.

In a better cap situation, I'd want to try to offer sheet one of the Bruins players since they're so pressed to the cap ceiling. Will it ever happen? No, but it would be cool to have someone like Krug.

More realistically, maybe we''ll push for Brian Boyle, Vernon Fiddler or someone like that for the 3/4 center role. Part of me expects Bowman to be back and have some sort of Charlotte call up on the 4th unless Peters drastically changes things.

I hope Ronnie is just saying we''re only looking for 4th liners and depth defenseman. We really need some sort of decent scoring winger that's not too pricy

Dalpe not offered a contract by VAN. This **** is funny.

Every guy associated with this team previously, stinks too much to make any other team.

Shows how bad we really are.

With Volchenkov being bought out I wouldn't mind the Canes giving him a shot as a 3rd pairing D. By most accounts he has sucked out loud for the past couple years in NJ, but he still can throw some hits and play as a PK specialist.

Dalpe, Gleason and McBain were Hurricanes castoffs. If they can't make it here is it really shocking that they are unsuccessful elsewhere?

I find it more shocking that other teams are actually willing to give these guys a chance after flaming out on our awful teams.

FWIW. Most Leafs fans were ok with Gleason as a bottom pairing defenseman, just thought he made too much money. Exactly what most of us thought here.

Dreger just tweeted that the 'Peg will not be qualifying Keaton Ellerby. Wasn't he a top 10 pick and highly regarded Dman at one point?

RF probably just added him to our "list."

You realize the Canes had Krug in as a Prospect Camp invitee back in 2011? He was there for the taking for Carolina.

IMO Florida did a terrible job with him. Id be interested in him as a depth guy but ive always kind of liked the guy

I'm assuming Anaheim is just going to sign Perreault to a contract? Otherwise, not sure why they wouldn't qualify him.

They've got getzlaf, Kesler, and Thompson lined up. Thompson would seem to be a fourth but maybe they don't want Perrault at c anymore. They're definitely getting bigger and stronger. Perrault already looks like an odd fit with the new direction.

The Canes will qualify RFAs Tlusty, Boychuk, Jordan, Memisz, Rissanen, Shugg, Jared Staal. Loktionov, Bowman not getting offers.

So Lok is a UFA now right?

Ya, and it sounds like they sent him an offer so they are trying to sign him...just want it to be on their terms (or they'll move on).

#Sabres must spend over $20.5 million to reach the cap floor ($51 million) for 2014-15. capgeek.com/sabres/
