No reason to not protect him at this point. Given the unknown of an NHL season, and them still being able to draft a player even while protecting him. If by chance he does return he's be one of the better players in the OHL I feel.

Works out great that the Wolves can make two new selections. Wouldn't be surprised if the Wolves swing for the fences/gamble on a real high end talent with one of their selections

True, but Byfield going to LA could be a blessing in disguise for the Wolves next season, look at LA's center depth. I'm hoping LA takes Byfield at #2. Much better odds he could be sent back. If Ottawa gets Byfield at #3 he's not coming back.

Yeah. that's not happening. Ottawa could possibly get Byfield without trading up, they're not giving up another first to secure that chance. the difference between Stutlze and Byfield is not worth it.
