tbh I could live with almost any 1 year deal.
Pretty much.

Every move Stevie has been making just sounds like deals to keep this team from looking like an AHL team again, and not much more.

He'll get traded for a 3rd round pick so Draper can draft his daughter. It'll be huge, fist female ever drafted into the NHL.

AHL team?

What is this talk.

Yzerman just did build hockey team. He did fill all our needs with almost best possible player fits from free agency, for those holes.

All terms were pretty short-term, so now the kids have time to develop and grow in with some timeline.

I don’t mind Gost especially on a 1 year. We need offence and he definitely helps there.

To me this signals Edvinsson is primarily slotted in the AHL. Obviously that can change.

We’re overloaded with LD but the ufa market was barren. On paper I don’t mind Holl and Gost but the actual fit is more questionable imo. What are we thinking about pairs?

Walman seider
Maatta holl
Gost chairot
Lindstrom

Holl on a 2nd pairing reeks of high lottery odds for 2024. Love the optimism, but just wait. He is not better than Chiarot, as much as that pains me to admit.

hope we're getting rid of Zadina and Veleno and getting DeBrincat
I'm down with getting rid of Zadina, particularly in a deal for Debrincat, but do we have another 4th line center to replace Veleno? He's not a key piece for me that would hold up a Debrincat trade, just wondering who would be our 4th line center?

Really like this addition, needed an injection of skill and puck moving on the back end.

Just hope we don’t healthy scratch him to play guys like Chiarot.

That could have just been Edvinsson. But now he's riding buses again.

Quite sure Gostisbehe is gonna take the 1st PP duty from Seider.

When Hedman was on his last contract years, this kind PP specialists were brought in to eat some PP points.

Yes, because taking icetime and growth opportunities away from your #1 franchise piece with some stat-suppressing penny-pinching fantasy is best for the future of this franchise.

Not to mention Seider has more PPP than Ghost over the last 2 years with very similar PP ice time.

This idea that we need a new PPQB is very strange. We need better left shot wings if Kubalik is going to keep getting yanked off the PP.

Ed also just had shoulder surgery. Who the hell knows if he's going to be in game shape and able to keep up in October?
I would certainly hope that they timed an elective surgery to coincide with the off-season/pre-season timeline.

The projections that I am reading are Larkin-JT-Copp-Ras down the middle.

Ed was at worst our 4th best D last training camp. Fat lot of good that did him.

View attachment 725404 Just look for that on capgeek to know who's AHL bound.

That is not true. He wasn't ready, he said it himself it took him till midseason to get used to the speed of the game in the NA and how different it was. In the preseason he was way to casual on his blueline, assuming he has more time and made a lot mistakes. If you want to compare his play in the preseason and aat the end of the season it was different, he was way more coposed and dealt better with forecheck. Now you can argue that Chiarot sucks and despite those mistakes, Edvinsson was still a better player, but is it always better for their development?
I don't see any necessity to pencil Kasper or Mazur already into line up - what happens if they are not ready and you basically have no Plan B? I think just to hope they will make it is bad planning and bad management.
