Cleary practicing on the bottom six is worthless. Babcock will try to spark the top six and insert Cleary midway through the first period.

Sounds like:

Z-d-bert
Tatar-helm-abby
Cleary-andy-alfie
Miller-glendenning-eaves

(Vomits)

Supposedly Babcock said Helm wasn't going to play 2C Saturday.

Z-D-Bert
Tats-Andy-Alfie
cleary-Glen-abby
Miller-Helm-22/eaves

maybe swap glen and helm

That second line is hilariously bad.

There is no real solution here.

Tatar on wing on top 6… thats what we wanted.
As for Helm.. he is 3rd line centre moved up here. No we are not splitting up the line that ALMOST won us the game by itself yesterday.
Abby was not the right wing… it was Alfie.

THats 2/3 good.

What is your other solution… Ferraro or some other kid in GR. Andy?
Franzen could take it worst case, but he's out too.

No matter what, the entire team suffers.

Either way, more no points for cleary good…. Keep falling down that depth chart.

Helm isn't a #2, but whatever, with Alfredsson and Tatar they've got a fighting chance to score some goals. One of the better 2nd lines we've rolled out in recent memory.

If he's only out for a short time...why not split up Hank and Pavel?

Because they've been dominating. And it's not like they do it alone, the two are feeding off of one another like crazy. Datsyuk's move on that 3rd goal against Dallas was a gem, but that one-touch pass from Zetterberg was also a stroke of brilliance no other player on the team would have pulled off.

I can understand keeping that line together but they've got two top centers and three 3rd/4th line centers...you have to make the short term switch because they literally don't have a 2nd line without Weiss and Franzen.

Is Helm ready for 2nd line minutes? I haven't paid full attention to his minutes since he's come back.

You also have to take into consideration that Babcock is going to match up power vs power. Stamkos and St. Louis will see 13 and 40 every shift if Babcock gets his way.

The 2nd like center needs to handle the Filppula unit.

Tatar - Dats - Bert
Abby - Zed - Alfie
Miller - Helm - Sammy
Glendenening - Joker - Eaves

If Tatar got the ice time with those linemates. He have at least 5 or 6 pts easily in 7 games.

I'm old fashioned, but I prefer 1 line that can score for sure rather than 2 iffy lines.

But Dolph here posted a tweet that says Helm won't be the #2 center, so I guess I'm not sure what is being planned.

The problem for me is calling up Glendening. Call up Sheahan or Jarnkrok instead, throw them onto the "second" line, and hope for the best. If they can't handle it, we still have Helm and Andersson in the lineup and we re-distribute ice time and juggle the lines as they go. I'd rather roll the dice with them than Andy on a scoring line roll.

Earlier today I stated my indifference with him in the bottom 6, so you can gather how I'm feeling about him getting 2nd line minutes.

I though Sheahan, big good chance he's "heavy" on the puck and let him have a shot
