"Goalie Apologist"
Yeah, I just don't see it happening anymore. It feels like the bridge is burned.
I don't disagree but who knows what his opportunities will be. The FA goalie class is pretty good.

Seems he feels like he just NEEDS to get the last word in on this when he should probably just shut up and play.
so why would Lehner want to lie, that is if he was lying ??
i think he is telling his side of the story .
So he looks like the good guy and to make his stock look better?
Vegas can resign Lehner if they want. They’ve managed the cap very well. In fact, they should, Fleury isn’t getting any younger and that team is in win now mode.
again while you do make a good point, actually a great point, there is always 2 sides to every story ........ to tell you the honest truth, i really do not care which story is true.So he looks like the good guy and to make his stock look better?
Have they?
The have 70 million tied up in 20-21 with 13 players. 11 million in cap space for 8-9 players is not a big amount.
Fluery has 2 years @ 7.0 left. Lehner will cost at least 6 million.
So no they can't resign him...
So he looks like the good guy and to make his stock look better?
Absolutely they have, look at their chart, pretty good values and no major free agents.
Reaves comes off the books, that’s about 3M. The cap could go up. Stastny only has 1 year left. With Glass emerging, they could trade him and free up 6.5M. Both Stastny and MAF only have 10 team no trade lists, not too prohibitive.
McPhee and McCrimmon have done an exemplary job out in the desert, got to hand it to them.
i really like to say, that is a lot of juggling and assuming...... but it does work per your work.Absolutely they have, look at their chart, pretty good values and no major free agents.

But it has the opposite effect. Whether or not he's in the right, no team is going to view favorably his badmouthing Chicago on his way out the door. There are times it's better to just smile and eat a shit sandwich.

I get what you're saying, but your argument hinges on "they *just* need to shed $13.5 million and they're fine"

They have to fill their bottom 6. Their top 6 and D are signed to reasonable if not team friendly contracts. If they want to resign Lehner, they can find a way. Of course it will require them to make moves, just like any other team. They haven’t painted themselves into a corner though. It’s very impressive.
Having to shed salary is the definition of painting themselves into a corner. They are going for the cup so that is fine but they are going to have to move assets to get some cap relief. Would you say that Bowman was a great cap manager during the cup run?
Vegas doesn't have to shed any cap space. Assuming a cap of 84mil, they have 18.75mil in cap space with 9-10 players to sign. That's 1.875mil/player.
There top 6 is already set, so they need to sign 7 bottom 6 forwards, and 2 6/7 Dmen.
Sign 3-4 forwards for 1mil/ea or less, that's 14mil left.
Sign 2 Dmen and a back up goalie for 2-3mil, they have 11-12mil left for 3 more forwards.
I don't see that as a big deal, they don't have any major RFAs or UFAs. They could probably sign everyone on their roster now and be under the cap. But yeah, they can't sign Lehner unless they move Fleury. Which might be an option for them.
