I have a hard time seeing Stamkos making it to UFA, if TB offers 8 years 11 mill or more is he going to throw away the extra 11 million? since he could only sign for 7 years instead of 8. I doubt it?

3 years 14 million per (with an under the table deal to then resign after that....)
7 years 8 million per

over pay him for 3 years when we're not contending, have him from 26-29, then 8 year deal from 29-36

Tampa fans have Stamkos rated behind Johnson on their depth chart, and I think deep inside Stamkos is discontent that he wasn't being played as much as he should have in the playoffs. For some reason I get the feeling he is the type of guy who will want to come to Toronto to play for his favourite team.
