And in this case, the reporters discussing this idea out and out say that they don't think it would fly with Bettman. Not at all. I believe the various reporters talking about him.
And if you watch the video, the TSN crew agrees with you and Chris Johnson, who reported it, says himself that he doesn't think Bettman would like it. It was just something that a few people talked about .Go back to standings-based, with the caveat that no team gets 1OA two years in a row or something. This isn’t going to work.
I actually really want them to try this for one year. Normally awful teams stop trying or are inconsistent at best. To see them suddenly have a bunch to play for (and maybe discourage teams from going all out full-tank?) could actually be fun. I like this way better than play insCan't see the video but in theory... cool. In reality... disaster.
Many will probably struggle to not look at it that way, but the could also look at it as fighting to pull their team out of that rebuild slog sooner, to avoid more seasons like the one they just experiencedI’m sure players of those teams, after spending a season getting their asses beat, would just love to cut their summer short by a week so the owners can sell tickets to a literal tournament of losers. Especially those who are about to be UFA’s.
I love this game but hate this stupid league.
Be pretty funny.Shouldn't the losing team get the number one pick? It doesn't make sense to award that pick to the best of the bottom 4 teams.
