I like this signing.

Zubrus is pretty much the only forward the Devils have that actually has size. This team is pretty small so keeping Zubrus will help since he's strong on the puck and uses his size well along the boards.

It's not even that he has size. It's that he PLAYS to his size. One of the reasons that Palmieri was such a flake.

Dainius Zubrus told me this morning he has agreed to a three-year contract to stay with the Devils.
Zubrus: "I was hoping it was going to turn out the way it did."

Zubrus on the trade for goalie Cory Schneider: "It was unexpected. It's a big deal... He's been a very good goalie for a few years now."
Zubrus said he feels bad for Johan Hedberg. "Honestly, he's probably the most-liked guy in the locker room."

Zubrus said Devils' ownership issues were never a factor in re-signing. "Not for me. I came here because of Lou. As long as he's here..."

Very telling quote. Lamoriello figured out how to replace Marty. How does he replace himself? This might be the hardest task he ever has. He is so respected across players, ownership and management. He is able to do things others cannot because he has such a strong track record of results and behavior.

I hope Marty can earn the same level of respect.

I still believe when Lou gives up the GM job he will keep his other to help with the transition of the new job and show him the ropes and the Devils way. Ill bet Lou already has his successor in mind.

Also extremely happy Zubs is back!!

Not a fan of Zubrus. Never was, never will be. Don't think he's worth that kind of money especially at his age.

I don't see how you could not be a Zubrus fan? He does everything pretty well and fits our system perfectly. Couldn't be happier with the signing.

NJDevils#4 doesn't need a reason to not be a fan of a Devils player. We all have our favorites and our not-so-favorites on this team. It's our perogative.

Also, if he feels Zubrus is not worth the money then that's his opinion ALTHOUGH his not-being-a-fan kind of affects that opinion.

Whatever....

Like Don Corleone, Lou will never really retire, he'll just go into semi-retirement and become the consigliere.

I'm really glad to see this confirmed. We need Zubrus and more guys like him on the roster.
