ANYONE SAYING A 40 YEAR OLD WOUKLD BE A NO UISE IS NUTS...

he great on the PP...Montreal is aweful...
Evenb at 40 he would make out PP way better period...

Look up his he got 918 career points about 330 of those were on the Power Play...

We saw what one of the greatest players of all time did at 41/42 he was a shell of his former self and only produced a strong season on the back of Barkov and Huberdeau. Jagr also didn't take a break from the NHL before returning at 41 years old. Datsyuk I am sure is still decent but I don't see the fit in Montreal , it's of course possible I'm dead wrong but I just don't see it.

So Galchenyuk did get a little tribute clip after all.

Thought they might have shown something like this, instead ...

I bet ya this..IF he comes back..i bet he gets 45 pts at least...

Based on what? The fact you havn't seen him play hockey in 3+ years? That the game is becoming more youthful every minute? That even people in the KHL say he has slowed down(only natural at his age)? I think you are in love with the idea of it but I wouldn't be too happy to have Poehling or another not make the NHL because we signed a 41 year old Datsyuk. The Marleau experiment in Toronto is going sour very quickly would hate to see that happen in Montreal.

Then he should pick up an instrument or get a top hat and a rabbit.

The fork has been stuck. It's in him

The nostalgic part of me would love Datsyuk on the team. Could you imagine if he could put young Kotka under his wing and show him the ropes. The sad truth is, he'd already lost a step or two before he left for the KHL. It would be devastating for all Datsyuk fans to see him come back and receive the same type of treatment that Plekanec received this year. Sure he reached the 1000 game plateau, just like Datsyuk probably would. *I believe he's like 40 games short*. I'd rather keep my Datsyuk memories as they are. Instead of seeing him come back and be not quite the player I remember him being.

Oh and I wanted to thank the Hockey Gods for this victory. But I forgot to ask for a Leaf loss as well. :shakehead

For those of you who understand french, this one is amazing.

Looking like the Habs social media people are trying to emulate the type of wit used by other teams's twitter accounts.

Odd cause we did have a coyote scare in Montreal last year with 3 children suffering attacks.

Luckily, the City of Montreal's solution is quite simple:

Anyone who encounters a coyote, which can be the size of a German Shepherd, should yell and wave their arms to appear larger. Do not turn and run, as this can trigger a coyote’s prey instinct.

Montreal to deploy scare teams to shoo away urban coyotes

Maybe our fans will do this next time the Habs face them.

Big 2 points and big night by Armia who was dominant along the boards. But big coaches challenge win. Go figure the one time we win one of those and it's a game breaker.

I watched the tourny last summer with him as captain , he still had some of his magic but was noticeably slower. Especially noticeable vs quicker teams , didn't matter much vs Sweden as imo I don't find the swedes played a quick game that's representative of today's NHL game.

I don't think Datsyuk would be useless just not a fit for where the Habs need to go pursue him (keep giving young players opportunity to play at the NHL level).

Our pp could sure use him.
I'm starting to wonder if its time for Muller to be taken off PP duties. Julien handled the PP recently and tonight they looked much better compared to before. They were moving the puck with urgency and didnt do the foolish drop pass into our own zone breakout that never worked. The guys still need to be more shot oriented but the two power plays we had tonight showed promise if not, at the very least it resembled what a PP should look like.

It's all fine and dandy but someone has to find a way of getting that dumb RDS intermission show, Avec pas d'match, off the air.

Maybe if we yell and wave our arms at the TV so that we appear larger, they'll be scared into quitting.

TBH I see that problem with a lot of NHL pp's, they are trying to be to fancy all of the time, there are too many attempts and too much time wasted with trying to set up something that is perfect and we often see 2 minutes of a pp go by with 1-2 shots on net. I never understood that drop pass at all, all it does is leave your own players standing flat footed and waiting, the trailer/puck carrier still has to enter the zone, it makes no sense at all. We also lack a great shot from the half wall and those that dislike Galchenyuk forget that he was a great shot option on the pp which we are missing. If this team can get it's powerplay to mid pack status along with it's good 5 on 5 production it could give other teams a hard time, it remains to be seen if they can figure it out for a sustained period of time.

I don't think I've seen a team lose an offside challenge, ever since they instituted a minor penalty for losing the challenge.

Coaches don't attempt these challenges unless they are sure it's being called back, it seems.

Armia's my kind of player. Smart, strong, tenacious and good at both ends . He understood that the best way to keep the opposition scoreless is to keep the puck in the O zone as much as possible.

And to say we got him for nothing, what a nice trade.

Simon.Bourque. lol
