Man have things changed in the last 3 days. I got an email over night advising the city is closing the rinks as of Monday. I expect I'll get another advising the Sensplexes are closed. There goes 3 games a week. That's my only exercise

Sports is a 52 week a year addiction. I play and watch. f***. I can't even go fishing at this time of year.

I have no idea what I'm going to do with myself.

What are your plans? How will you make use of all the time?

One thing i predict is a global spike in babies born December 2020 January 2021.

Same boat man. This is going to be very tough. Life has been pretty rocky the past while and sports has always been my getaway. Work, family and more movies/ shows I guess.

Same as usual, for me. Not possible to work from home in my job. TV without hockey is going to really suck though.

  1. Cancelled our vacation. Staying home. Teleworking for three weeks, at least.
  2. Completed hoarding yesterday (already had been collecting extra food and supplies (ammo... kidding) for the last two weeks
  3. Start renovating the house. Home Depot should be a safe place. Wear gloves and n95 mask.
  4. Clean my aquarium. Haven’t seen the fish through the algae in years.
  5. Find used parts for my old car online. (Old as in my 11 year old car is starting to have issues). Attempt to install them.
  6. Plan additional big Reno’s for spring and summer. Draw up plans and make material lists. Budget permitting.
  7. Use trampoline in backyard, walks with family, maybe jog to keep in shape. Set up a schedule for family walks. Daily.
  8. Netflix, Crave, Amazon Prime
  9. Make bug out plan, if things get worse.

I don’t know yet. I’m lost with no sport. No I’m kidding. Well I am a bit lost but my plan is to continue investing my money. THIS is the perfect time to invest as everything is going doing. So I’ll keep watching where I can get opportunities to invest.

More family time, I have been spending a lot of time already with my last one (18 months soon) and it's really a blessing that I don't want to miss, because it's not something you can get back.

Without doing it as a business, I have been "flipping" several houses (all main residences so no income taxes on capital gain) in the last 11 years so I gotta finish the basement on the actual one as I wanted to sell this summer. I live in a crazy area where houses have been selling in literally hours lately. The market has been booming like crazy so hopefully, the situation doesn't slow it down much. Shouldn't be a problem to buy the stuff needed like Variable was saying

The Covid situation doesn't change things much for me as I already spend quite some time at home with my family but no school for the older kids means more time. There's so many things to do when you have kids and a house (plus a dog!) already so you don't really have time to get "bored" anyway. Relax time means maybe more Netflix/movies but gotta admit I am already missing playing and following hockey.

I'm going to:
- not panic
- not hoard useless items like toilet paper and create artificial supply-chain issues like a moron
- chill out and spend a couple of weeks with my family. Boardgames, some nature hikes maybe to stay active. Probably get some early spring cleaning done.
- shop for things when I need them, and when I do I'll be sure to not go out in public looking like a god damned DIY astronaut suited up in a janky, panic-induced duct-tape flight suit and needlessly put the fear of God into people who genuinely don't need more stress in their lives in an already stressful time
- wash my hands a lot
- not touch my face when I am in public
- practice safe distancing in public when relevant
- respect what COVID represents but at the same time not make it worse by being an idiot
- listen to medical professionals and not politicians who are disgustingly attempting to politically weaponize the pandemic
- not panic

Workout regularly from home. It’s easy to let that slip from your routine during these times and just sit on the couch all day.

Not drink alcohol. If I start drinking now I’ll probably keep drinking out of boredom.

Do some work at home for my business. Plan stuff for next year as things have kind of come to a stop for this year.

Not sure what else...

Get to spend some quality time with my wife at the range.

Why wait in line for TP when you can just go door to door when the apocalypse hits, and kindly request sharesies!

Rec hockey is still on the go here, for now, but the Senior hockey league I'm in got cancelled heading into the finals I guess because it's a Hockey Canada league. That's unfortunate for sure, our team is incredibly strong this year.

No clue what to do on weeknights now, when not working. It's pretty shit. Obviously still lots to do, but sports are such a big aspect of my friend group lives.

Time with my less than one year old son.

Hockey is still a go in the Yukon so far, so will keep going with that every Monday.

Video Games, movies, music, ping pong, dog walks, etc.

I don't know about all of you, but there is nowhere near enough time in the day to get done what I wish I could, so if anything I'll just maybe be able to meet that quota now and get caught up on other things that pile up.

Our firm is making plans to work remotely from home, so we'll do our part with social distancing. Major pain to make happen, but its important imo.

Canceled a holiday to Mexico in April and pretty much anyone we know canceled theirs too, just not worth the risk and uncertainty with travel.

I could see the way of life feeling more disrupted in the big cities. Pretty hard to socially distance without just staying home.

The past few days has definitely shown me that I do spend a significant portion of my free time checking these forums, checking scores, getting caught up on the NHL news and then the anticipation of a game later in the evening keeps me looking forward.

I will definitely need to find a new hobby when I am not at work. Luckily (and unluckily I suppose) my job requires me to be on site therefore working from home is impossible for what I do so that is a good thing considering too much time at home is not always a good thing.
