I'm not sure what Marleau's wants are (geographic I'm assuming), but I wouldn't mind the Isles taking him on a year deal.

Definitely see a fit on the 'Yotes. I assume it would be a bonus-laden contract, so it shouldn't be much on this year's cap. AZ could use the depth.

He’s really not. His decline in year 2 of that contract was one of the sharpest drop offs I’ve seen in a player. Would not want him on my roster at league minimum.

there would be numerous benefits to any team, especially a young team to have marleau at league minimum. many of the details he would bring to a team would be invaluable and in some cases can't be taught by a coach

I’d happily give him the same deal Shattenkirk got.

He’s got a bit left in the tank. He just needs quality line mates to get 30 - 35 points out of him. Lower competition is also probably a must, so he would have to be on a team with good top 9 depth.

He really struggled to produce on the Leafs. Think of our offensive talent and the calibre of player he had to play with.

His skating is still good, but his hand are gone and he does not engage physically whatsoever anymore

It's getting sad to see. Trying to set the ironman record by playing with no intensity is a bad look.

I wonder how much Simmons actually knows about this and how much he's just making an educated guess based on what's happened so far.

Steve Simmons? Educated?

We now go live to Pete DeBoer for reaction:
