You just can't justify paying him huge numbers when he is the 3rd best forward at best right now. Sign him for 2 years around the 6 mark, and see if his complete game actually gets better.

Forwards for sure.

I doubt that I'll get agreement from Jets fans but I'd propose something like this:

To Edmonton: Laine
To Winnipeg: Nurse, 2019 1st unprotected, McLeod and Yamamoto

How far off am I?
He's going to demand at least 9M. Better off keeping those guys and signing one of Duchene/Stone

Pretty damn far. It would start with one of the 3 desirable players the Oilers have.

New York Islanders give them a call... I wanna see Barzal set up Laine for the next decade.

Trotz will whip him in shape, Lou will keep contract low and will never let him grow that hideous beard again

They can be a new aged Backstrom/Ovi for Trotzy

we wanna see someone

1) Average game is not 20 mins
2) How do we know nobody else is using his account
I would say an average game lasts around 5-10 minutes. That's when the most deaths happen. This problem is only on the forefront because of his slump, it wasn't a problem when he was scoring.

I'm happy if he develops back into a lethal sniper our NT needs but I'm totally fine with him being buried out of the NHL if he doesn't learn how to play at a high level all the time like his peers.

This may be an unpopular opinion but if I’m the Jets I would deal him. He would fetch one hell of a return and while he’s a great goal scorer I don’t think he’s someone you build a team around for $9M plus.

If you don't have anything interesting or insightful to say, just make crap up. That's Kypreos' approach...

I think Cheveldayoff is the idiot if he signs Laine to big money. The guy is a power play specialist. He could care less about defence and his skating and iq are horrible..

Power-play specialist who has....

...MOST even-strength goals at Winnipeg Jets on last 3 seasons.

Even strength goals from 2016 to 2019:
1. Laine 65
2. Scheifele 57
3. Ehlers 56
4. Wheeler 42
5. Connor 40

And 9 players in whole NHL (McDavid, Ovechkin, Matthews, Skinner, Kane, Kucherov, Tavares, Crosby, Tarasenko) has more even strength goals than Laine from the period Laine has been in NHL.

MYTH BUSTED.

Ps. These are still crazy f***ing overall statistics even though he has struggled for 2 months.

The tough decision is, which bottom six winger to trade and or not resign?

Keeping the lottery gift from the heavens, that is still a project, on a bridge deal is the easy part

It's not about which bottom 6. Again as I pointed out earlier fans have to realize in a cap era , their is turnover every year and only a few players on each team will be recognized as the core .

Bridge deals and talk about team friendly deals are far from few. Reality players want 2 things a Stanley cup ring and as much salary as they can possibly get.

Hockey players in this year's free agency realize this could be their best and last chance with a new CBA coming .

The formula for winning a cup is through drafting , development . Pittsburg , Chicago those 2 teams are the formula in a cap era of how to build and win a cup or multiple cups with a couple of franchise players who in their entry level contracts , through each raise win multiple cups in a 8 year window, while trading off decent, great and avg players and retooling.

People love jumping to assumptions.
Here's one. Serious gamers prefer to not let other people use their account.

I'm not going to get too bent out of shape about the gaming here, though it does sound a bit excessive. But, unless we can see games being played on his account when he is known to be elsewhere, i.e. at a game or practice, the fair assumption would be that the games are being played by Laine.

This place is so ****ing ridiculous that it even makes Kypreos look smart. Everyone is jumping on Kypreos because it's what they do and it's like no one actually understood what he was saying, or even listened to it.

All he is saying is because of his recent usage, Laine might not want to stay in Winnipeg long-term.

Players have wanted out for worse reasons than that, so why is this such a crazy or stupid thing to say?
He implied because of Marner's usage (he was slumping and got a brief demotion to the 4th line) that he wasn't a long-term fit for the Leafs, and should be traded. Marner was the exact same age as Laine was when this happened. It is why people question his insight, even if the first fact he based it off of is somewhat correct.
