It's not pertinent to the play, it's the right call but it really shouldn't be.

It actually is pertinent. Hertl was the first forechecker into the zone who puts a hit on the defenseman that separated the puck. If Hertl had to slow to stay onside, he would not have been able to make that hit.

He's very fast and hits people, and has a pretty good shot, but he's not a smart player at all. He's probably be fine with a really good 3C, but he's not really very special.

Meier is still getting way too cute with the passing.

Nope. He'd be a fine 4th liner but they're not going to compete with him centering the 3rd line. Just not enough offensive skill.

Yea I was hoping he would have caught that pass with his feet, made a little pass to Labanc and he'd get an easy assist there but he just couldn't do it. And he's had chances like that this year too.
