When we're the worst team in the league but still have no trouble beating Toronto

Any win over Toronto is welcome

That said, sloppy hockey both ways. Our goaltending was good

Duclair was Ottawas best forward.
I liked Parker Kelly's game. He had hits, agitated and had a couple good looks.
Lajoie had a great 1st period and was so so after that.
Goaltending was very good

Ottawa's D struggled generally to get the puck out and to make good first passes .

Hard to be too critical in a preseason game when there are still a lot of moving parts out there.

A win is a win is a win .. And against the leafs its whatever way they come I'll take

Thought's on a couple of players. Not a lot to take away from this game, predictably was a sloppy game.

Duclair- Easily the most dangerous for Ottawa. Never been a doubt about his talent. Felt he tried to force the play to the middle of the ice too often and it ended possession. Still the brightest spot of the night for skaters.

Batherson- A couple of nifty plays, was chasing the play more times than not. Wasn't involved too much.

Formenton- Didn't really have that a burst of speed we are use to seeing with him, played fine but nothing really stood out.

Balcers- Really liked his play. He is very subtle and polished in all three zones.'

Kelly- Love his motor. Kept up with the pace of play, looked like he belonged. Should be around camp for the entire duration.

Brannstrom- He was steady, liked his defensive zone play. Didn't show much with the puck on his stick.

Lajoie - Had the goal and a big hit early which had people talking him up but it was a poor performance from him. He looked slow and got beat repeatedly.

Nilsson- Looked really sharp.

Ottawa
Obsession with leafs is due to constant propaganda bombardment of the Toronto sports media. People do not realize that Senators is the oldest franchise in sports in the whole North America, only after Cincinnati Reds. Ottawa valley is where the hokey was born, first organized hockey was born, NHL was born and three team were born, who still in NHL. First three original NHL teams. Canadians, Leafs as Blue shorts and Senators. Blue Shorts were sold to Hog's town for 50$. Big mistake. They should never had a team. Overhyped perennial losers. We begot them and we should end them.

Good game fellas. Clearly your boys came out to play. Our 11 million dollar man was out there counting his dolla bills on his way to the bench there. If one preseason game is any sign, you guys are going to have a great team. I hope Dubas can get our first pick back. Looking like we might be in the running for Lafreniere this year!

Not used to say that but goaltending might be a strenght this season with Nilsson and Hogberg

On the bright side for you guys, the Raptors already planned all future championship parade routes for the city, so the Leafs can stop obsessing over that part and focus on actually winning one.
