So back in the beginning of July I booked my G2 test for August 1st, the first available day. After waiting about a month, I failed it today. They tell me I can try again in 10 days. So I was just booking another one to retake it aaaaannndd the next available spot is in the not until Sept 8th.....

This is setting my entire life back a whole month after already having to wait so long. I'm furious. Two whole months to get my G2.

If you can get out to one of the smaller towns around Ottawa they waiting list is much much shorter. It obviously involves someone driving you out there, but my sister ended up failing and booking in Cornwall (I think) like 3 days later.

I called the pizza place and the manager is doing it all for me. Got mad love for this place now.
You should ask for the recipe and make it on your own
Usually impresses girls
Unless you're as bad as me in the kitchen

My son just got his G2 in April, many of his friends went to Winchester

Lol I have a top of the line kitchen and I dont think I've ever turned the stove on. Also I thought it would be great if I showed up with it in the box from the place.

I'm already in a small town out of Ottawa. I Checked all over the place. Where I am was the earliest. Some places didn't even have an opening

I remember a few years back, a lot of my friends would go to the MOT testing in I believe Kemptville or similar. I am not sure if they still have the option to go get tested elsewhere, but it is worth a shot to look into.
Actually, it’s true. If you can manage to book in smaller communities, you’ll get in faster.

Apple officially becomes the first trillion dollar company.

Damn. There are certain elements of capitalism I agree with and feel benefits society...but that. A trillion dollar company is just too big. There's no way the next Bill Gates or Steve Jobs has a chance to compete and bring innovation tot he marketplace with it dominated by such monsters (and that goes for nearly every industry these days).

Can't agree there.

Elon Musk seems to have done fine with these monsters already existing.

New industries will appear and new monster companies will come along with it

Nothing has done more to lift humanity out of poverty than Capitalism.

Capitalism is not perfect, but it sure as heck beats whatever is in second place.

Musk has literally made a career out of using other people's money. Tesla beyond the fanfare is a total train wreck, with global governments heavily subsidizing them they still cannot come close to turning a profit. It simply isn't a viable business and as these government handouts are stopping you can see that sales are dropping like a stone. Solar City a sham, The Boring Company has never delivered anything, SpaceX is bleeding money even with grampa NASA throwing them billions.

Read up on the man, he is the definition of a modern day snake oil salesman. Only thing he did which worked was PayPal (which incidentally is exactly using other people's money), he is no Steve Jobs, Bezos or Gates that is for sure, those guys had integrity.

A resounding vote for the powers-that-be, how unexpected :D

We are living in the most developed, richest, healthiest, etc (basically best) time in human history. I would add on though that our capitalist system is more of a mixed system since it adds some socialist ideas to what is basically a free market economy. But to deny that capitalist ideas (and I would also add socialist ones like health care, labour laws, welfare, etc) has made the world a better place seems a bit ridiculous in my opinion.

Correct. We live in a capitalist country that has social welfare policies. Which is the best way we know how to do thing so far. And it's been spectacularly effective overall.

A true socialist economy has resulted in collapse wherever it has been tried.

Denmark and Sweden et al all developed the wealth they needed to implement their social welfare policies through intensely free market capitalism.

Capitalism works when you are a wealthy country who has the leverage to exploit poorer countries, and an earth plentiful with natural resources to mine and extract.

Neither of those factors will last forever. Until the end of our lifetime? Probably. Indefinitely? Not a chance.

Stole my words. Ask Africa and the diamond industry how well capitalism worked to uplift them.
