Mysens probably somewhat regrets pulling off that epic stunt, I expect he'll be laying low for a bit.

Coladin's been posting.

Does anyone really want to to interact with Alucard?

If nothing else, this thread would be dry without the Count. I really like reading his posts, even if they make me want to throw my screen out my office window sometimes or most times. When you see consensus starting to build on this thread, you know good things are going to happen. We were just starting to see a bit of that before said silence. Good days are ahead, its just a question of when.

I get in trouble when I read posts that want to make me rage so I just... Use that option that we aren't supposed to talk about

So @mysens, seeing as the Karlsson trade talks have supposedly resumed, does this mean the negotiations have gone sour and we’re stuck with Melnyk for the foreseeable future?
ya cause this is the first time that karlsson trade rumours have surfaced and led to nothing

New theory: If a new owner is on the horizon, they may want to start with a clean slate. If I were buying the team, I would be tempted to unload EK, Stone, Duchene, Anderson and build a team with all of the picks and prospects coming in (plus the talent already on the way Drake, Formenton, Gustavsson, Tkachuk, Brown, etc). If that's the case, the shedding of the top stars can be blamed on Melnyk. Melnyk takes all of the blame and the team sells tickets based on hope for the future. The new owners would get a honeymoon period and the fans could possibly accept the loss of the top stars because the team is starting over with new stable ownership. The team then becomes highly competitive in a few years, timed perfectly with the move downtown.

Just a theory, but as I say, if I was the new owner I would be mighty tempted.

I think if you want to stay relevant in this league, sell tickets, sell merchandise, have a presence at the ASG etc it start with keeping EK

You are not sending Condon at the All Star Game
Not even at the Porn Star Game

Even if they could use him there:sarcasm:

Really glad you don't have the money to purchase the team.

Yep ,not going to lie I have thought this way as well....The new owner will have to fork over some serious cash when he buys the team,he may just want to try and recoup some of this before going all in ....

But on the other hand, fan interest would likely fall even further...So that may not work ...They need to sign the big three and start purging the entire thing top to bottom...Then start from there

I kind of wish he was, that's a much better plan that whatever the f*** we're doing right now.

Add the assets you would get in the Duchene, Karlsson, Stone, Dzingel and Pageau trades to an already good prospect pool (Tkachuk, Brown, White, Batherson, Formenton, Chlapik, Chabot, Wolanin, Jaros, JBD, Tychonik, Gustavsson . Then tank for the 2020 season to try and get Alex Lafreniere, and maybe 2019 season if you get your 1st rounder back for Jack Hughes. You will be in a much better shape, and ready to contend.

Dunno what stunt you are referring to tbh. Mysens has been consistent with his claims, there is ownership (majority ownership swap or significant partnership) change that takes time. Explains, not including pessimistic assumptions, the weird front office silence/1-year Stone contract/EK-Duchene updates/shit marketing...

Yep most would agree it does make sense, the issue would be the average fan....Unsure if doing this would really tank whatever remains of the ST base

Well, when you don't want to include things you don't like as possible, things usually point to the way you want

Not talking about the Mysens stunt thing, I have no clue what that is.

One thing is for certain... Either what mysens has been pimping is coming and will explain all this nonsense, or this organization has failed this summer in f***ing spectacular fashion.

We have a downgraded roster from the team that finished 30th and our 4 best players are unsigned pending UFA's. All while keeping the dead weight salary we have on the books that we'd hoped to shed at least some of this summer.

What epic stunt? What did I miss?

He was telling everyone he was in Italy and essentially showboating (I am wealthy, have connections, currently on vacation abroad etc...).

MySens rant about being in Italy came out of left field so it was hilarious. People called him out and he later posted a pic of his watch, road signs in Italian and a piece of paper that said something like "Hi HF - MySens" with the date (I think it was August 16th?)

It was pretty rad

Oh, a stunt, in just being that type of guy.

Yeah, not something I'd do, ever, but to each their own.

Well MySens has been boasting about having insider knowledge so him pulling that off sort of validates that he isn't some lunatic in a basement.

It doesn't mean much else but it was pretty epic how he just posted the pic in response to the usual suspects spewing incessant vitriol and everyone was o_O. To be fair to the usual suspects, it certainly seemed likely that MySens was just some random dude who likes to type too much.

It's a rotten year to start a complete re-build with a basement-dwelling team.

And when your best winger, center and defenseman are UFAs at the end of this season
No, you move them for picks and prospects.
People will embrace a rebuild if it’s under new ownership and management. If Melnyk and Dorion try to do it, it would be vilified and rightly so.

Agreed, I mean if the signal is that we cannot afford our stars when they get good so we're going to blow it all up and start again, then there isn't exactly any hope that this situation doesn't repeat itself over and over again.

EM can't blow it up without admitting that this team can't afford to compete.

No one is going to take on Karlsson, Stone or Duchene without sending lots of money back our way, that's just not possible since they need to be signed.

Your move doesn't make sense in this context.

Players get moved for futures all the time. Especially at TDL.

Thank you and to who ever else has some faith in me. This whole EK thing has me shaking me head. I am still in my travels and obviously still following things here and keeping in contact back home for business related issues or just talking to my friends/colleagues. There is nothing else to add. The talks have been on going, negotiating numbers for the purchase and trying to figure out how they will proceed regarding ownership percentage. All this nonsense of EK talks is the same crap a couple of months back that took place, all the while I was telling everyone to chill, nothing is happening and it was all smoke in mirrors. Then it comes out, it wasn’t even close. So, by me coming back here and telling you what I know, turns into some people going bonkers and seriously making themselves look like the little kids at the play ground who can’t play with anyone because they are little cry babies. I remain, as I posted a few days ago, something big is coming that will make all of you including myself very happy and hopefully turn the usual negative nellies into supporting fans. So, to all who have even a little faith in my posts, thank you, to all the others who have an issue with my world, well, so be it, there are way way more big fish in the pond and it doesn’t bother me one bit, in fact, it inspires me!
