We made it to east final against Pittsburgh so it was perfectly fine to think that way at the time. But what isn't reasonable is expecting that same group to get back there after everything that has transpired since then.

I mean I think the obvious answer was to keep our core together and bring up the younger guys to supplement them. We would have had a real nice looking roster even if we had to get rid of Hoffman still.

We also shipped off our #2 Dman to the expansion draft and failed to replace him, and both Karlsson and Brassard missed offseason training+most/all of camp to major surgery and were clearly still suffering from it to start the season. MacArthur also LTIRed, so there goes another top6 forward from that team that made it to the ECF, Stalberg was left to walk, and Wideman had a career ender of an injury 16 games in. Oh, and Anderson had a terrible start to the year. Stone missed 24 games, Ryan was constantly injured, Chabot was underutilized until it was far too late,

But yeah, it was the room...
